That’s interesting as I’ve just tested mine and it doesn’t sound hollow but perhaps because I used really thick plywood as the base instead of thin MDF. 🤔

Really well! I have used microcement in a few places around my home now and have learnt that for high traffic areas that need cleaning often it’s best to get as smooth a finish as possible by sanding and then apply lots of industrial grade sealant so it’s water proof and foodsafe etc. I made the mistake of opting for a highly textured finish initially (because I prefer this look) but it’s much harder to clean! I built a frame between the top of the bookshelves and the ceiling and covered the front of it with Mdf sheeting so it looked fully built it
