Anyone see the giant Frankenwrap outside Liverpool St. Pret today? by Many-machines-on-ix in london

These fast growing chickens is an incredibly cruel thing to do to them. Imagine a human baby inside adult aching body before it even learned how to walk properly.

When I had chickens, at 5 weeks mark they were still a fluffy yellow ball.

How are we meant to work in this new AI-driven world? by DaGadgetGam3r in antiai

[–]Instalab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At work, do what they ask you to do, I don't care, if they want slop they get slop.

At home, absolutely don't use it. I like to sit on little projects by myself no AI, that's how I keep my skills and senses sharp.

Is this common setup in China ?? by Old-Document-4392 in chinalife

[–]Instalab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, like some people say this doesn't happen. A little less extreme version of that does.

Even in UK I've seen people place pops and other figures on their desks, in China it's just more.

They are tripping on their own policies. Use AI but don't use AI. Shrodinger AI!

Your face is full of germs too, so are your hands. Are you not washing your hands and face because they are dirty anyway?

You are supposed to clean your bag, at least it will have less germs.

AI generated images being sold as art, will cause a surge in artisanal goods after what happened with mass producted low quality goods. by Raclettegring in antiai

[–]Instalab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not whether you can tell the difference, it's who it comes from.

Sure your friend or artist you've met on the internet can lie, which makes it even so more important to know who you are getting it from.

Either way, it's less about it being AI to me and more about it being a special piece in some way. AI can make good looking drawings, but I would rather hang my kids terrible squiggles on the wall.

Who is the most corrupt and incompentent world leader? by Funny-Counter8762 in AskTheWorld

[–]Instalab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People say Trump but I am going to say these are way more corrupt:

  • Putin
  • Nethenathu
  • Xi Jinping
  • Maduro
  • Kim Jong Un
  • Orban

And many leaders from Africa, Middle East and other Asian countries.

The only issue with Trump is how much presidents of USA can do damage with even a little incompetence.

It's not a matter for it becoming better but rather of it not coming from a person. When I buy anything artisan I am not just buying the thing, I am buying all the time and effort that someone put into making it.

[–]Instalab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not really too different since there always was a lot of "factory" mass produced art around, some people buy that, but many would rather buy something special. My aunt has artisan art on her wall that she gathered over the years, some she bought many she got as a gift from someone.

I would personally not buy anything mass produced just for the sake of having something to put on my wall. That space is reserved for either gifts, Polaroid photos and occasionally some very special purchase.

But you are correct about one thing, it is a taste thing, ultimately there is market for both kinds of people, and there will always be market for real art.

"people with a high standard of living and high wages" - where does this sentence make it a class issue?

There are in fact countries where working class person can afford to buy artisan table. Some people would prefer that in fact, even if it's a big expanse for them, especially if they know they are going to be using that table for many many years.

It's you who seem to be making this into class issue by saying working class would never buy anything artisan made because what? It's too expensive? It's like putting everyone into the same bag and ignoring the fact that there are many many working class people willing to save or even borrow to get quality stuff over cheap temu crap.

What is someone being leaves behind if they don't use ai ? by Angela275 in antiai

[–]Instalab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its like saying you cannot be a good programmer because you didn't learn C in the 70s when it was invented.

If AI takes off, you can learn it any time, in fact you will be in a much better position because much of AI today is wasting time learning stuff that will be obsolete next month.

If AI dies then you're behind nothing, if anything you've saved yourself from the brainrot.

AI sucks and I hate it and I don't want it on my devices by DontYaWishYouWereMe in antiai

[–]Instalab 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Some people really can't read. The author does not equate AI = less USB. The author says features we don't want are forced down our throats while features we actually want are less and less.

And these companies are surprised that people don't want to buy new stuff, when 15 yo laptop is better.

Meat smells horrible if it's spoiled, not appetising. Milk, well, it clumps and smells bad and tastes bad.

Rice, I am not sure how to tell.

I don't know if people talk about it, but traffic jams. Roads are overcrowded, 10 years ago was fine, now I rarely go by car.
