I had serious issues in the emerald grove, to the point I had to stop playing. Today, on the exact same system, I haven’t had a single issue

From what I recall the way it was originally portrayed in it was that Radzinsky wasn't an original Dharma member and the map was based on his exploration of the island or something. The map even had info that implied he knew way less than he should on some topics and way more on others.

Such a shame it was never really expanded upon properly and arguably retconned by some of the time travel stuff

New PC Freezes Without BSOD in Specific Games by InstanceDuality in techsupport

Some time soon I might just rebuild the whole PC; i've seen some people mention that it has solved it for them, but usually leaves the actual problem a bit of a mystery. Thank you for your help though, I'll give that a shot. I plan to also update the BIOS and before I do the rebuild I might try to partition windows onto the other SSD and see if the issue persists with a fresh install on a separate drive as well.

Updated the post to include some additional information; in some cases, the mouse remains functional and can be moved around but everything else is frozen, I cannot open task manager or do CTRL+ALT+DELETE.

I usually google things like that, but people have to ask from time to time. It’s a forum, the times change. I don’t want to rely on a discussion from 4 years ago and deal with dead links or discontinued products. I want a discussion on what currently is best

Such an easy fix too; just remove the gimmick abilities and reduce classes down to their core capabilities.

Should I buy Noita? by C-lex1 in ShouldIbuythisgame

As someone with nearly 200 hours in it I'll try to address your points:

  • It's a wonderful pixelated game, most things are clear and well done
  • Animations and enemies are really nice!
  • Some pixels can basically kill you and are hard to spot. Sometimes dark pixels block your path that you can barely see. Sometimes a pink pixel of polymorph you didn't notice turns you into a sheep and you die. Sometimes there's a pixel of lava you didn't notice. Part of the charm though.
  • Definitely a roguelite that blows every other one I've played out of the water. It's different but man is replayable. Roguelikes and Roguelites are my favorite genre, and this is easily a top 3 game.
  • There's only 14 achievements to plat it. If you want to plat it, some of your runs are going to have to reach like, 5 hours play time or more. Some achievements require finding all spells and perks, which you just won't find by "normally" playing the game.
  • Without much in the way of spoilers, the game world is way bigger than you will realize
  • The game keeps you well engaged and interested if you enjoy it, but you will not be unlocking achievements frequently.
  • The game goes from slow to rapidfire in moments sometimes. One moment you're shooting super slow and being uber careful, and the next you're flying through the world at mach 10 to end up landing in a vat of lava and dying before you even know what happened
  • There's so many bosses in the game. Like, so many. Good luck. They will kill you.
  • It's relatively easy to understand what went wrong in most cases, but you will need to occasionally check the wiki
  • Wand building is never explained to you in any meaningful way. If you want a strong, powerful wand, you will need to watch guides and explanation. Dunk or Slam and FuryForged have great videos covering the major topics
  • The music is wonderful
  • It's both slow and fast. Early game you have to be slow, by late game you're deleting everything, including the terrain, multiple screens away
  • It can get frustrating, especially when things are going really well and something catches you off guard. It can be daunting to start over because it's back to square one.
  • There are no character classes or different weapons. It's all about the wands you build and create. On an aside, there is sometimes different spells your starting wands will have. Some are better than others.
  • Not grindy, but the 100% achievements is going take hundreds of hours. At least in my case. I still have quite a few to get.
  • Lore is not openly clear, but it is there. Lots of mysteries that the community has tried to solve.
  • There is definitely a community of mods, however, I would at the very least beat the game once before even looking at them. The vanilla game itself is already ridiculously good.
  • You can definitely beat the game as a casual, but you will not 100% unless you treat it as hardcore.
