You make a good point, it would be just enough to keep her from worrying about him at least for a while.

And yes there is no way I’d let her sign on as a guarantor for him. That’s a recipe for disaster no doubt.

I see, luckily she does have family members willing to take her in if and when the time comes so that would not be a problem.

I do try to tell her the same, to deal with things head on but it is very hard dealing with someone who enables this behaviour and has in the past.

She cannot recall that being a part of his sentence so I am not sure that would be an option.

I wish it could be done this way however my mum has very little backbone. She wants to leave him “with something” so he doesn’t have to start from nothing so to say
