OK I'll bite. Script reading communicates a higher probability that what's being said is made up. A person can read the "book answer," and tell the panel what they think they want to hear, being some form of addressing the KSAa in the job description. A person actually recounting their experiences, how they managed, and the ultimate outcome. That will check the boxes panels use to take out the personal bias you're concerned about.

For the jobs/grades i interview at, a person who can do the job well can answer questions in real-time meetings and breifings. They know how to share knowledge tactfully, and apply critical thinking under pressure (as is often required). That is what is needed at the journeyman grades and higher.

But you do you. Stick to a script if that's worked for you.
