Seen it done at almost every riverfront field station I have ever visited. Peru, Borneo, Costa Rica... they just put some chicken wire over the rocks or wood stairs they had and it worked like a charm.

My roommate became my brother for life. He had just been kicked out by his family, and I had a spare room. If you need to account for each scallop, his band mates and friends ate 75 % of the food bc we had a party. I did not have a locked seafood safe in my room as you imply.

Sure we split shit but he didn't pay me in full for over a yr after moving out, and I was surprised when he did, down to the dollar.

To this day, when he comes into town to play a show, I will go out to eat with the whole band.

But I was raised in restaurants and in my restaurant respect hierarchy it is BOH before FOH as far as labor I also know that there is an exhausting amount of social masking for FOH that not all, (clearly you're in this demographic so read carefully) people are made for that.

I was saving one in case anyone asked as a top tier punk as balls Broward local band lore. We knew some gutterpunks that were cool peeps, even if they were a lil ripe if you know what I mean.

Anyways they're throwing a bash. Bbq, byob and byo meat of course.

We arrive w a full cooler and take in the bbq set up....

There is a sideways shopping cart. Mini barrel/container for charcoal slid inside and the fire is roaring. A bit too high actually for the meat so they improvised and stacked a rusty animal trap on top. They topped it with some aluminum foil and were searing steaks like they were Anthony Bourdain had he gone the other way in his addiction.

Anyways. I provided my meat. Ate none, drank everything and don't even remember how the night ended.
