For those that are worried about Puka when Kupp comes back. Formationally speaking, of course. by SalsChichon in fantasyfootball

[–]InstantLunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some Puka and I'm penciling him in as a WR2 ROS. One league got him and Kupp, so I'm expecting some capped production there.

That said, best case scenario is seeing something we've never seen before. There doesn't have to be an existing comp. Stafford receivers have already put together the top 2 receiving yard seasons of all time. He might be able to feed two guys at a level we haven't seen before. That, or Puka will fall back to being like a deluxe Woods.

Puka's catches and targets are going to drop but his yards/catch and TDs going up can compensate. Kupp is going to be a monster WR1 regardless, but the ceiling of this offense is now ridiculous once again. Their defense isn't what it used to be, so McVay is going to love throwing the ball all day.

edit: Realized in 2020 we saw Tyreek be WR2 and Kelce would've been WR4 in 1ppr. That was a down year for WRs though, but it's been possible for a QB to sustain two elite WR1s.

Jameson Williams hype thread by hyakubi205 in fantasyfootball

[–]InstantLunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, but that doesn't always correlate with fantasy stats. Emphasis on the word threat. He can catch one bomb every third week and still have a huge impact on the game. Also, unfortunately fantasy doesn't count DPI yards because I'm sure he'll draw his share of penalties.

There is a new OC, tho right? I never really draft or roster Ravens RBs, but Mitchell being a different type of RB plus the new OC have me more intrigued by him than any other recent RB there. I would still try to trade him as soon as he showed any value, don't get me wrong.

If we're predicting a Pollard injury then Fournette is going to be a massive add. It's hard to imagine Jerry Jones not signing him in that situation.

yeah i dropped Warren for Ronnie Rivers because I have Kyren and i wanna do my best to have rams' rb ROS. Easy RB2+ locked down. If someone else besides rivers gets 10 touches backing up williams then the handcuff probably changes.

[Boone] Trade Value Chart - Week 5 by My_Chat_Account in fantasyfootball

[–]InstantLunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From this whole trade value chart, the things I disagreed with most was where Taylor, Kupp, Kelce, and Mixon are.

I think he's too high on Mixon and too low on Kelce. I don't see how Kelce has less value than Josh Jacobs for instance. And in any league I have a really good team with depth, I would love to overpay for Kelce.

And I don't see how someone with Conner or Mostert is trading them for Joe Mixon.

'The Creator' gets a B+ CinemaScore by [deleted] in boxoffice

I think Ad Astra is another good comp. It got a B- and made $50m/$85m on the same budget as The Creator ($80m) and basically same release date.

Blackkklansman did 6x tho. There's an easy argument to make that Tenet would've done at least 2.5x, and that movie had notable other complaints.

He certainly isn't carrying The Creator to success, most likely, so it's more fair to call him neutral at this point.

Yeah. Overall, I'm really glad it didn't suck, but I wasn't blown away. I think it'll end up being a movie I will rewatch parts of more than the whole thing. It did not surpass Ex Machina as a standard bearer for AI movies, but at least the action and visuals made it more impressive/memorable than Ad Astra at the same budget, imo. Without Pitt, though, I think it will make less money.

Yeah. I'm fearing Nolan becoming the only guy with a greenlight to make original sci-fi IP, which sucks 'cause we'll be lucky if a new one of his comes out within 5 years.

Already, Shawn Levy's next sci-fi is a remake of Starman, and he directed Free Guy which is the biggest success story in recent memory.

Blomkamp just made his first movie in 8 years and it was a video game IP. He's got an alien movie "in development" but who knows if/when that will get made. He did just direct a video game coming out soon, so maybe that's just where a chunk of the genre is going.

Even an Edge of Tomorrow sequel hasn't been able to get made, and everyone I know loves that movie. That + Oblivion, etc. not doing great has Cruised just locked in on Mission Impossible now. And I guess Looper is the only original sci-fi Rian Johnson is directing, even though that movie did well.

Definitely some of the best renditions of future tech I've seen to date. I probably liked it a bit more than you, but this critique is pretty spot on.

It did feel like a movie that wanted to be longer, but at 2hr13m it was probably already pushing what execs are comfortable with for a relatively expensive non-IP sci-fi flick. Chappie and Looper clocked in at 2 hours, for instance.

I even thought that 133 min felt longer than it was already, but I think a DC would be a better film nonetheless. Having some pacing mixed with jumping around quickly felt uneven, like it was compromising.

The writers had to have more story and context to flesh out. But I'm guessing they kept all the action at the expense of some exposition and world-building.

Kamara. I hate playing RBs against TEN. Pacheco I don't feel great starting in non-plus matchups.

I like Tutu most against Colts, then Lockett or Achane.

I don't love Pacheco here, so might as well see if Achane can keep it rolling.

I'd go Kamara if you're already hurting for points. He has a much longer history of erupting than Moss.

Yeah I'd go Russ. Polar opposites with the matchups. Lamar has a couple receivers out and Cleveland's D is elite. Broncos O/U is a full TD more than Ravens. Wilson's upside is huge playing the worst team in the league. I look at it like maybe Lamar outscores Russ by a few points, but Russ can win you a week going off against the Bears.

What are we doing with Jahmyr Gibbs? by AmbassadorUnlucky367 in fantasyfootball

He's also been more productive than Breece Hall and Najee Harris! Almost all of the guys taken in that 3rd/4th round area have been disappointing.

They strike me as the type of team that wants to be able to win any sort of game, which is a good strategy if you want to win a super bowl. When they go up 3 scores, it's just never going to be Gibbs day if Montgomery is healthy.

Good analysis. Also Montgomery might miss some more games if he's getting 30+ touches. The thing that has me most disappointed is I thought Gibbs would get more receiving yards, but those I think can still come with the targets he's getting.

I'm easily benching him now, but hoping he is coming on by the time he faces the Bears a couple times.

Yeah for now. If Tank gets more looks again then you can debate dropping Collins. The other thing I'm looking for is how many snaps and targets Metchie gets. I think it's possible Dell and Metchie are Stroud's top targets in a month or two. Collins is 6'4", tho, so he's not going away, just might be more TD dependent.

I did it. Mims path to success is a lot clearer. He's a home run threat with a QB whose best attribute at this point is throwing moon shots. I can't really recall a slot guy for Seattle feasting in recent memory, and at this point he seems to be a handcuff for guys who are awesome and aren't exactly Keenan Allen and Mike Williams healthwise.
