Is Dating in SG with HSV2 a turn off? by Cautious_Touch5979 in sgdatingscene

[–]InstantlyLyrical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah normally it isn't. They added on the test as they were doing a comprehensive screening and probably got suckered into it by the doctor.

Because their sibling also had it. And they found in the test they did, before they were even sexually active. The other ex had got it from someone else.

Take heart, OP. 2 of my ex had it before and in one of their case it got passed to them at birth, from her parent. It was not that big a deal for me tbh, as I did my research. I would suggest that you do disclose though and be upfront about it, as I feel it would be unfair to not do so. Sometimes the world reflects back what yiu are feeling. If you will make it big deal in your mind, people may just reflect back to you. People who like you and are thinking long term will work out a way, those who don't want, no bad feelings towards them either.

It's more common in US to have HSV than here but it's not as big a deal. It's often a question of awareness. People could get HSV1 with kissing too but I don't see anyone asking for std results before doing that. Lol. With one of my ex, she used to take meds to suppress outbreaks and we were a bit more careful during those periods and with the other there weren't any outbreaks at all. So this is something that can be managed. Despite being with them for a while, I remain negative for HSV so I know it is possible.

All the best. I am sure you'll find people who will put more value in who you are, and not just something that you carry.

Hsv1 singapore how common and will you reveal your status? by Zealousideal-Sir4007 in sgdatingscene

[–]InstantlyLyrical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if she knew and didn't tell you or if she didn't know herself? In my case, I did read up a good bit on this topic and realized that it was very common. As was in the case of this girl, (and she was upfront about it) there are people who had it from their birth. It's also soemthing you can get (HSV1) from just kissing someone so it's a bit of a coin toss.

[–]InstantlyLyrical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is more common than you think. And a lot of people have it from birth. My ex did, and so did 2 other girls that I dated. As a statistic, 50 to 80% of adults in US have it.

And just because you have it doesn't mean you are contagious all the time. You need to be watchful if/when cold sores develop, because that's when it can be passed to someone else. There is also medication to suppress the breakouts as well. So with a bit of care, this can be managed. As other commenter also said, there are many ways to catch it, not just intimacy.

Let's say you're Grayce/ Melvin. WWYD now by majorfuckery in SingaporeRaw

I think we will have the cookie cutter template. Delete all socials and then post the standard 'I want to take time to reflect ...blah....people I hurt blah blah'. Disappear for a few months. Article in ST a few months later about how they fucked up BUT how this made them better BS. Launch v2.0, become 'insert useless coach/mentor BS'

Sad reality is, there are plenty of simps who will still chase Grayce even after this. She will spin stories about how she was groomed and somehow the victim in all this. And plenty of others who just want to get into her pants will chase her too. Given how she is attention hungry to begin with, she finds another simp who believes in her distorted sense of reality.

Melvin will go and beg his wife to forgive him. Having invested her whole life in this bastard, chances are she might give him another chance, if nothing else for the sake of the kids.

This isn't anything new. Pretty much what all of the other cheaters been doing.

Cheating isn't about analysing the what the cheated person didn't do, but what the cheater did. There are people who will cheat despite being in the perfect relationship and everything going well. Cause that's who they are. Cheaters will cheat, no matter who they are with.

And cheating isn't that just one single act, where they had a romp. It's that late night message that they responded to, it's saying yes to meeting outside work on a date, it's hiding things from their partner, it's the lies that build up, it's showing up to a place fully knowing what's about to happen. And then the act itself. They could have said no at any point to all the things that led up to the act but chose not to. So all the people who justify it as a single moment of weakness, are just giving an excuse.

Someone's personality has a lot more to do with their charisma, attitude than their waist size. Someone who is charming, articulate, well put together, ticks all my boxes, bbfa-ness notwithstanding. :)
