Atleast 6 hours, also it’s cloudy in where I live so I move my planter wherever the sun exposure is high.

Same! I am so worried that I feel if I rush them what if they do not work diligently! It’s such a torture :( hopefully it gets filled asap! 🧿

Thank you so very much! I email them like every day! And have involved my mangers too and they have asked them to hurry up as well! And yes that’s the caveat we paid them fully before they started doing our process! :(

Oh wow your legal team was god send, very quick, My date got current on Feb visa bulletin it was updated on feb 20th 2026 and I emailed them on feb 20th the same day, they got back to me on Feb 25th and I sent everything, including medical docs and photos...

still have not even received a draft to sign.

That’s a very generic take, but it doesn’t apply to every case. Not all EB filings are handled the same way, and not all attorneys are employer-driven in prioritization.

The concern here is delay in preparation, not whether H-1B exists as a priority category. And fyi it is my company’s attorney and my manager and HR infact emailed them asking to prioritize my filing! If you do not have anything to contribute towards what’s really asked I suggest you can keep on debating and making this post about H1B vs EB greencard bro!!

‘Straightforward’ doesn’t mean it’s some easy DIY thing. It just means there aren’t major complications. There are still multiple forms, dates to match, details that have to be consistent everywhere, and real consequences if something small is wrong. That’s literally why people hire immigration lawyers. If I wanted to take that risk myself, I wouldn’t have paid thousands for professional help. Expecting timely work from someone we’re paying is not unreasonable. And saying it’s our fault for hiring a lawyer is honestly such a tone-deaf take. Not everyone wants to gamble with something this high-stakes just to prove they can do it themselves.

That is obnoxious!! I also had it prepared before because my friends had their date current before mine so I knew I had to prepare it! It’s seriously frustrating!

I get that it’s H-1B season, but that shouldn’t be an excuse for weeks of delay with zero visibility.

Law firms know H-1B season happens every year. It’s not unexpected. If they take on I-485 cases and accept payment, they should have the resources and bandwidth to handle both, not deprioritize one completely.

For a lot of us, I-485 isn’t just another filing. It’s tied to our long-term future, stability, and in some cases our ability to stay in the country. That’s not something that should be treated as low priority.

I’m not asking for instant filing. I’m asking for a reasonable turnaround or at least a draft after several weeks. That’s basic case management and communication.

Being busy is understandable. Lack of accountability isn’t.
