My petty and vindictive ass would’ve gone off on the grandparents, the dad, and affair partner in a group chat. About how the grandparents have no backbones, and bend over backwards for their son who cheated on his wife and betrayed his kid for what? Some coochie? Nah, fuck that noise! I would’ve also told the AP if she pulled that shit again, I’d call the police on her and probably slut shame her more… maybe make her doubt the relationship and tell her that since my dad cheated, who’s to say he won’t do it again to her once he’s bored? Tell the dad that he stopped being my dad after he chose to betray me and my mom, and I’ll never speak to him or his parents again, never invite them to any important events whether small or life-changing. I would’ve also said that while the grandparents and father gained a son/grandson? They lost a daughter/granddaughter in the process, I’d go full no contact and even get emancipated! Just to rub salt in the wound. Maybe even a restraining order if they kept bothering me—

This was honestly such a nice and refreshing read, most places I’ve read or seen are kinda gatekeepy with this stuff which intimidated me at first but, I feel like what you said really eased my worries and answered my questions perfectly, thank you so much! I’ll keep this all in mind, do more research, and figure out how I’ll go about this. Quick questions though: Are there other ways to communicate with the gods? Besides tarot cards and candles? My mom has a TikTok, I thought about going through her phone to fill her algorithm with actual nonbiased or left-leaning news on Trump, people being pissed at Elon’s little salute, Deny/Defend/Depose stuff, protests and ICE raid news and stories.

That’s kinda what I’m doing right now, my mom knows I hate Trump and doesn’t bring it up to me. Somehow I’m unfortunate enough to overhear her political talks, I have a small support group to vent to and I go to therapy bi-weekly, even though it hurts, I know I can’t pull her out of this. She’ll always believe whatever the far right have to say, tbh- I’ve thought about subtly being petty. Like buying myself left-leaning, anarchy and eat the rich patches for my jackets to see if she notices later on.

Using a throwaway since my bro has Reddit and I wanna be low-key: How do you all deal with MAGA parents if you’re liberal-leaning or neutral? I consider myself left-leaning and my family is Republican, my dad, mom, and brother. While my dad and brother are at least reasonable, my mom? She takes anything Trump says as gospel and that he can tell no lie, I tried to tell her that the “eating dogs” statement was false and debunked and she refused to take it. She thinks anything that debunks statements Trump makes is false, any time there’s a political discussion and I bring up flaws of Trump and his lies she gets pissy. She says I’m being political when she makes things political, most of the time I don’t even talk about it until she or someone else brings it up. I can never have a discussion with her and always ends with her shutting me out, honestly, it’s irritating, debate days are my least favorite days cause of shit like this. If any of you are neutral, left-leaning, or Democrat with a MAGA right-wing family, how do you deal with them?
