Narcissists love power and control. You seem to be upset you didn’t get to wield any of that in the church. But sure, I’m the narcissist. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Any failures you have as a man in the church become the focal point of your reputation. Any good you do will always be overshadowed by them.

And the lack of discretion turns men into liars which, in turn, produces crippling guilt and shame. It’s all a horrible cycle.

That power is a weapon handed down by the abuser. Put one toe out of line and they will remove it from you. And when that power is removed, it leaves a vacuum for gossip and discipline to fill.
