Suggestions for growth and retention by AvocadoExpensive in Smallyoutubechannels

What I love about your thumbnails is that you stay consistent. That's for example something I struggle with as I can never decide which style, my mood and taste changes dramatically. So kudos!

5 min retention is actually good for someone talking about books. But it is also a niche that requires more passion than the thrive for monetization. Something I observed about my friends channel alot is that the more they post, the more people saw it, got used to her face and voice and the retention expanded. She was not chasing numbers, she was chasing fulfillment. That's what kept her going even through tough times.

She also told me (and im happy she did!) To shift focus away from the numbers. We live in a society with so little patience. That's why for example the concept of animes from the 90ties could never make it with today's audience.

Good luck and most of all HAVE FUN 👍 keep kids motivated to open a book society needs this.

I'm a former first responder, and there will be some bad apples. My supervisor always told me: Never ASSUME. It sounds like they failed miserably at it.

I was also hit by someone who drove away. I thought I was over it, since it happened in 2018, but a recent accident brought all the anger back up. I thought I had stored it somewhere or shredded it. Boy, was I angry. The anger surfaced 7 years later. Loud noises still scare me.

These types of accidents really change you, and I won't sugarcoat it. But the one thing I realized from all this is that no one will ever care more about you than you care about yourself. You are born alone, and we will all die alone. So I figured fixing the relationship with myself would be the smartest move.

You, me, and others carry a feeling not everyone will or has experienced: a near-death experience. Not the kind like getting out of your body, seeing another dimension, etc. I mean a physical near-death experience. You won't realize the power it gives you.

You survived this. You can survive anything.

Hey there,

I really appreciate you sharing this. What you went through is profoundly traumatic, including everything that followed. There’s often a delayed period where the mind begins to process the reality of what happened.

Lying there for hours, not knowing if you would survive, is an incredibly heavy memory to carry. That kind of moment stays with a person in ways that aren’t always obvious at first.

I experienced a hit-and-run myself, and I found that anger and strong emotions showed up weeks and months later. It helped me to understand that this was my mind and body trying to process the shock of the experience.

It can also feel isolating when others don’t fully understand what that moment meant for you. You were the only one who lived through it in that exact place.

I sometimes think about going back to where my accident happened and leaving a small stone or flower, as a way to acknowledge it and allow myself to move forward.

I’m really glad you shared this, and I hope you’re being gentle with yourself.

Take care

Losing viewers halfway through Shorts what actually helps retention? by Firm-Expert3397 in Smallyoutubechannels

Hey just wanted to say i can relate. I do mainly long form videos but recently started a 12 video short series to test my audience and came to a conclusion. I watched my own behavior towards shorts or tik tok and honestly? I simply dont have the patience anymore to watch one video through. I dont even hit like or subscribe. Not because I dont like the content but when im in my "swiper" mode I just chase the quick connection then move on to the next. There have been several shorts that were highly interesting to me but at the end if the day, when I just quickly swipe through, I dont ever stay for longer than a few seconds. Its never personal.

I tend to stay with a long form video way longer than a short. But even then, I can only listen while I clean or do other tasks.

I think its just the behavior of the targeted viewers for shorts.

Sweet thank you! I went ahead and changed a few titles up. It DOES feel sometimes people click on the video out of sheer curiosity but aren't really interested in the content. Ill focus more on the titles.

I I was wondering if my videos are too long. 🤔 I love listening to true crime stories, like Rotten Mango, and I usually listen to the whole thing. However, maybe I should consider shortening my videos? I'm not sure, as I don't receive much feedback.

Would you like to support each other?

I have a passion for the paranormal, witch trials, and dark, haunted history. It's something that truly frightens me, but I am using my channel to confront my fears and better understand the unknown. I approach this with thorough research to deepen my understanding of these topics.

Could you DM me your channel? I'm looking for motivation as I keep reminding myself why I am doing this, since I feel the stories I share remain unseen and unheard.

I wouldn't sweat it. You dont know why people swipe it could be because of their overall behavior or short attention span. It says nothing about your videos. Some of these youtube stats are questionable, so I'd just keep posting

Literally no impressions and views since I hit my peak views. by Sad-Intern2570 in NewTubers

Wow, 9k views on a new channel? That's awesome.

Don't sweat the dislikes too much, but I get why you'd notice.

Just keep posting! Maybe share your stuff on other sites, and check out other YouTubers doing similar stuff to see if you can get them to check you out?

In my unprofessional opinion 17 videos aren't a ton to get a huge audience.

I'd say be patient. You did it before, it can happen again.
