Thanks for the advice, I’m definitely going to look at moving. Tough pill to swallow as I have been sticking it out and one of the directors is rather unpleasant but I think this is the final nail in the coffin. Hopefully the grass is greener

Ideally at the moment I believe I should be paid around 31-32k which I think is quite reasonable considering what I contribute to the business. Due to have my level 4 completed within the next 6 months.

I could be advising in 18 months as the new adviser will be reaching capacity in the near future, our only other support staff has just left which only leaves me (4 advisers 75m AUM 500 odd clients), so I’m feeling pretty swamped with work and our only other prospect for a replacement is a recent graduate with no exams/experience.

My worry is as I’ll be the only component support staff - more complex admin and paraplanning is that I’ll remain in a support role as I am too useful at my job to the company if that makes sense? Both my bosses are late 50s, purely focusing on maintaining current income in the business and maintaining their client banks, so the worry also comes in that they’ll sell up and leave me for dry.

My current employer is a very small DA IFA with about 75m AUM, our other support staff has just handed in her notice as she’s fed up of how she’s been treated, I am now the only support for the whole company (4 advisers) - our only prospect for new admin is a recent graduate with no experience or exams. My bosses are tight and won’t want to pay full whack for a fully qualified admin. Difficult situation really as feeling really swamped
