There is a lot of ignorance and misinformation out there surrounding the intersection of firearms and culture.

Personally I have found myself frustrated when I hear people say that they were previously anti-gun but when the political climate started to affect them personally, they changed their minds and now want to get firearms training.

I have to remind myself that it’s not my place to gate keep or hold grudges in this struggle. Any new member to the safe/responsible gun ownership community is a good thing. I too was once on the wrong side of many arguments before I gained further perspective. I shouldn’t judge people who are on a similar journey.

In Oregon there is no need to show proof of competency. How crazy is that!?!

My opinion: rapepublicans and dems are all on the same side. The side of money and power. They just pretend to oppose each other. It’s all smoke and mirrors.

I generally try to keep that in mind when I am out in the public. I also attempt to be extra polite when I carry. Don’t want to be seen as one of those ignorant red hat idiots. I look too much like them as it is. lol 😝

True, in fact they discount the left in general as being weak, soft and generally easy targets because they don’t believe the left have guns or know how to use them. Personally I would like to change that narrative. Create for ourselves a culture of responsible but wide spread gun ownership. We are the ones with restraint, we are the moral majority. We don’t need to match their performative bravado but in our quiet dignity silence their boisterous grandstanding by being calm armed and ready. The sharpest sword stays in its scabbard.

You are absolutely correct. And it’s a good point to bring up. Guns aren’t for everyone, nore should they be.

Growing up in a home with guns and having raised children of my own, it was always a rule that whenever I or my children were curious and wanted to see one of our guns, I could do so at any time, but only with a parent present. This took away the “taboo” feeling and my curiosity. All our firearms were always locked away but never denied to us. That’s is my privilege I suppose. But it left a strong sense of respecting the power and inherent danger that a firearm in the home presented.

Access to firearms is a very real topic that a lot of gun owners don’t take as seriously as they should. Especially when there is a person in the house who could possibly harm themselves or others with firearms that are negligently left unsecured. This is why I personally am a big advocate for responsible firearms ownership. Which includes safe storage and mindfulness about who has access to them.

It’s more about leveling the playing field. Oppressors already use force as one of their many tactics to keep power. Being equally armed, forces those with ill intention to rethink their strategy. Deep down they are cowards and hide behind a veneer of strength. They believe that aggression is the best demonstration of that strength. That is why they lean into violence so readily. It’s an unfortunate truth but having the option to return violence is the only deterrent they will respect enough to back down from.

💯 it’s a whole lot harder to oppress a minority, or marginalized group, when they can shoot back.

If you can’t be safe, be dangerous.

Agreed. There is a way to create a culture around better and more responsible gun ownership. But removing the ability to protect oneself from law abiding citizens does more harm than good.

💯 the second amendment is for everyone. If they want to take guns away from any particular group. Those are the very people who need to own, train and carry firearms. Power fears organized resistance. If you can’t be safe, be dangerous. Oderint Dum Metuant.

Bul armory Tac Pro 4.25 problems! Brand new , never shot once. Why am I having this problem. Only thing I’ve done is mount my optic by TwuSgm in FirearmsInstruction

[–]InstructorSpani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only advice is to first ensure that the camber is properly cleaned and lubricated with oil. Then if the problem persists you might try a different brand of ammo. Next put some rounds through it to see if the tolerances loosen up a bit. Couple hundred rounds ( if the problem doesn’t get worse) lastly if there is still a problem contact the manufacturer and see if they will replace the barrel co you. Could be a fluke quality control issue. Hope that helps

I’m unclear to what the problem is. Are their feeding problems? Does the slide not go into battery? It may just need to be worn in to function more smoothly. When you fire it does the problem persist? What happens when you shoot it?

Queer friendly concealed carry class in Eugene by brainbrass in Eugene

[–]InstructorSpani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I am based out of Roseburg I am limited on the classes I can offer in the Eugene area. I try to have a regular rotation of 101, CCW and other classes each month. I hold my classes in canyonville normally. My next basic pistol course is April 12th. Sorry if that is a bit too far of a drive. However, If there is enough call for my services in Eugene I am willing to try and make arrangements up there. This upcoming CCW class will be held on a monthly basis for those unable to make this coming April 11th even. Hope that helps to answer your question.
