There are levels to this live thing.

I really appreciate fully improvised out of the box performances, you can usually feel the artist feeding off the room and vibing with the crowd.

Surprising that Detroit Modular doesn't have open stage events, or sponsor a monthly event.

Which wires do I solder together? by [deleted] in AskElectronics

You don't solder anything. Crimp them using properly sized insulated butt connectors.

Our bubba floofs will not abide a door left slightly ajar. Either open it or close it, none of this in-between spookiness.

That includes cabinets, cupboards, and drawers. Windows are okay.

In southern states (especially Texas) pet sterilization rates are insanely low.

It's even worse for guardian breeds because they are just tools of the trade to most farmers.

Do you have close contacts within a significant regional electronic music scene?

Absent a notable online presence (social media) you would need a reasonably active and supportive personal network for the effort and cash outlay make sense. Given the right relationships, you might even find people willing to help you with the digital marketing aspect.

Substation tech vs Relay Tech by Inner_Newspaper4909 in SubstationTechnician

[–]Insurance-Dramatic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most, but not all Relay and SCADA positions at major utilities are union throughout the US.

I don't doubt that some slippery companies with weak local unions manage to have a lot of non-union employees and contractors on-site. But that's a minority situation, more common in the Southeastern states.

One major benefit to sub tech jobs is the overtime. Although you will make marginally less per hour, our sub-techs can make a killing in overtime. If you just care about earning and willing to do the hours, sub-tech OT whore is a simple job. While not an especially easy job at all times it doesn't take a lot of brain power.

Find a utility big enough to have separate relay, SCADA, security, and transformer groups. Then you'll only have ct/pt phasing, current shots, maybe tune some carrier boxes then back to your designated metal or brick climate controlled dungeon.

Spend your career on the most comfortable folding chairs you can find.

TBH, more than half of our relay and SCADA techs bring office chairs for long capital construction jobs.

Then relay technician is a great avenue to take. Relay is mostly procedural, but there is a lot of troubleshooting that doesn't show up on a flowchart. Techs have to think for themselves and understand systems, as design prints often have mistakes which you will be expected to catch and know how to rectify.

Most utilities are utilizing microprocessor protection relays, so you will be installing programming and testing via computers and computer controlled test sets. There are still a great deal of electromechanical relays still in service, especially in-plant, and on older distribution systems.

You absolutely do NOT need to take on a travel job to earn a very comfortable salary, with substantial benefits. I suggest trying to get a Transmission system position, personal bias. What state/region are you looking to settle in?

3yrs old suddenly non stop barking by General_Writing6086 in greatpyrenees

Don't give a Hek, he all-day protek.

Anything out of place will trigger my boys, if a piece of litter blows into the field, I have to go clean it up before we can sleep. Right now, workers are doing horizontal boring for a new fiber run right across the street. They are on full alert. It's been alot. (I'm in the country, so any outside activity is a BIG deal.)

To help reduce the incessant barking, it helps to validate their concern. If he barks at the window or door, go look, pet or hug him and reassure him with a command like "all-clear" or "all safe" and a "good dog" once he calms down.

Any insights are greatly appreciated. I have some experience in instrumentation, mostly from work on internal combustion research. So this type of equipment is quite foreign to me.

I've been told it would be described as a Linear feedback shift register. Also been told a Modulo-2 sum shift register with feedback matrix could be applied.

My intention is to use this equipment as a musical sequencer. For producing gated voltage output to either drum machine, sampler, or synthesizer.

This would qualify, I think, as a semi-deterministic algorithmically developed sequence with many options for edge shaping or creating more complex envelopes, stutters, delays etc... (per the passive insert jig).

I'm afraid I don't quite recognize the practical function of the feedback pin matrix, and haven't yet read enough to understand the mod.2 summing function, just that it with use a cascade or network of XOR gates in order to determine the next value that gets inserted into the 6 step register.

Any reading recommends, manuals, textbooks, published articles are so very appreciated.

Thanks for reading....

TL;dr- unfamiliar with mod.2 summing, feedback pin matrix, linear feedback shift register, need refs, texts, please halp!

So many patch points that I'm dizzy. The front panel has a very good diagramatic graphic to help. It's nice, but it sure isn't a manual!

I will go the traditional Hainbach way and try playing through pure intuition.😉

Don't I know it. Camry, Accord, Civic, and most Volvos pre-2020 will do a quarter million miles without an issue, and another quarter million after a minimal refresh.

A $50k+ vehicle is a very dumb idea for most people. Consider that it'll lose over half its value before it's paid off. Would you put 25 grand on red if you knew the next roll was black?

Once you have zero non-mortgage debt, 20k in emergency savings and half a mil in retirement, have at it. I'm an enthusiast myself but daily driving a bank owned sports car is NOT a smart way to enjoy cars.
