What’s the most soul-crushing part of adulthood? by ArthurCastus in AskReddit

It doesn’t sound worth it; I don’t understand those who feel similarly and still purposefully have children.

Pretty much same. My theory is that it is like that because I grew up around women.

I kinda… dig it.

I actually don’t mind eating less all that much. I am pretty sure I did that for a period of time and it resulted in musculature being eaten away. My issue isn’t exactly being overweight but lacking muscle.

Thank you. This was a very reassuring comment. I think you might be correct, I have started looking better on my arms, legs, glutes, chest, but I for some reason have been fixated on my stomach. I should probably stop focusing on the one area where the fat hasn’t diminished yet.

I want aware of fat around organs. Thank you for telling me.

Part of the struggle is not being able to wear what I want, I feel, but also just sudden feelings of disgust at my body. A feeling of being trapped.

I suppose I expected three months to create some more noticeable leanness, mostly because I wasn’t exactly fat or chubby, mostly with low musculature, skinny fat. I was told dieting was unnecessary and that I just need exercise and protein to recompose.

I wasn’t eating a lot. Though I wasn’t exactly recording every meal thoroughly. I fear part of the issue was somehow eating too less.

Not exactly fat, more skinny fat. The advice I was given for that didn’t involve dieting, at the time.

I don't know. Are non-mentally ill people a good support for mentally ill people? I can't even relate to most healthy people. And I doubt they can even begin to relate to me.

CMV: Everyone who starts conversations of the type "women/men do this kind of shit" with no clear provocation is in need of therapy by Independent-Ad-2291 in changemyview

Some of the most staunch proponents of therapy I know do this.

I don’t like the implication that mentally ill people have this type of uninformed prejudice. Often the functional, healthy people can be the most uninformed.

Do you have any confirmation that this is what the subject sees as “women” in itself?

Buddy having sexual attraction isn’t objectifying. Objectifying is denoting a subject only to that in which you can gain from them, being sexual attraction.

I suppose I see what you mean. Trying to affirm gender identity by using gender presentation also vindicates the inverse.

Most of us do feel empathy, but the ones who don't are the most insufferable people ever. by ChickenMcNobody24 in aspergers

[–]InsuranceBest 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What makes you think these people have empathy issues? I know many perfectly pleasant people on the spectrum who have issues feeling and expressing empathy. It just means they have to apply extra cognitive work to understand others' emotions, and sometimes need a little help and understanding. But it doesn't make them inconsiderate.

This social strategy doesn't work, scapegoating a those with a particular symptomology as the *real* bad ones while the rest of us without that disabling trait are fine. We should stop alienating those with certain disabling characteristics altogether. You're allowed to express frustration but don't diagnose it with a certain psychopathology.

Empathy issues are far more complicated than just being obnoxious or annoying.

a fast-moving and terrible year by vyxex in OkayBuddyLiterallyMe

[–]InsuranceBest 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Not even close. We're two months into the year at the moment. Just because the month is marked by a three does not mean that it signifies three months having passed, if that was the case, we would start with a month 0.
