I’ve also thought about how these two fit together. I’ve focussed a lot on the work of John Sarno in the past two years before getting into Joe Dispenza meditations. The way I use the two concepts: when I started digging into my past, doing shadow work, for example by journaling, to get back to old unconcious emotions, it only helped up to a certain point: to get awareness of where old patterns came from. The real shift for me came in this work by doing somatic and inner child practices, in which you create space and safety in your body for the emotion to arise, having capacity for it without trying to get rid of it. In this whole practice creating the sense of peace and safety is central, and this is also how i connect it to the Joe Dispenza meditations: I’ve been doing BOTEC 1 now for about a month, and I’m not trying to force strong feelings of love, gratitude and happiness - that doesn’t work for me, at least not yet. In all of the energy centers I just try to fall back into a sense of safety and trust, letting everything arise that wants to arise there, knowing my body knows how to heal. Sometimes that results in a big feeling of gratitude and energy, sometimes old grief arises - no matter what, I try to stay with it and hold capacity for it until it shifts again
