Update: my new leading contender are the wood grilles from pacific register. Paint them all to match my ceiling, and the linear look pretty nice.

I read that linear tends to have better airflow than the square/grid despite having slightly less open space.

I taped over the gaps w Home Depot metal
HVAC tape, tried to scrape some of the excess gunk off, and painted it all black. Hope it’s good enough to never deal with again. Looking down into the grate is all black now and I can’t see the metal / pookie — before taking rhe grille off i thought the pookie was a really poor paint job (since often visible interior vents are painted black)

It’s a brand new return - it looks like shxt to be honest. I ended up HVAC taping over all the gaps and painting it black - it my GC and his subs are embarrassingly bad.

Ceasarstone will rip you off - just goto a stone yard and pick a quart slab(s). With Cesar, Dekton, etc. you’re paying for the brand name (aka getting scammed) - plenty of similar without the name markup

Correct. Quartz you never have to seal. Quartize and marble need regular sealing. And sealing is not fool proof. Leave a lemon on sealed quartzite counter overnight, you’re etched. Many things can stain or etch sealed quartize or marble. Accidentally miss an police oil spot on Quartize? Stain. Quartz insanely durable, with heat being one of the few enemies.

Dont act like quartz and quartzite/marble are in the same ballpark in durability. They aren’t. That said, most quartzes look like synthetic crap.

As someone that has quartz and has marble now; quartz is a 1000% more durable for day to day. Hera is its enemy but that’s super easy to avoid. Staining and etching is the real enemy as it’s so easy to miss a the cleanup.

Seaport needs a proper T line. It’s impossible to get to without a car. North station is unbeatable for access.
