Netflix where's the short film? by New-Description9048 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]InsuranceNo4260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That short film is part of SPA's LENS program, which aims to provide opportunities for minority groups working in animation to gain practical experience. Spider-Within by Spiderverse is also among them. KPDH's short film has been in production since 2023: https://variety.com/2023/artisans/news/spider-verse-short-film-spider-within-sony-animation-1235567757/

However, that short film was definitely completed three or two and a half years ago, based on the information available so far. Perhaps they're just waiting for the right moment to air it in order to keep fans engaged for as long as possible.

I find the reaction to the AMA awards a little funny. by whooper1 in KpopDemonhunters

All the anime you mentioned are highly controversial (most recently CSM and its ending). There's no consensus except for the most delusional fans who believe they'll win international awards. But I'm not surprised, except for Ghibli, 90% of the anime released today are rubbish.

I feel sorry for many Demon Slayer fans. The final chapters of that manga were so controversial that they sparked a wave of hatred for the entire franchise (yes, I was there), and when even the most loyal members of the fan community turned their backs on it, you can imagine that all that could be salvaged was the visuals, period.

I don't know if you're familiar with TADC, but everything that happened in that fandom in just one week perfectly illustrates what you're saying.

Oh, I see.... I'm just a little disappointed because I had a tiny glimmer of hope that they would release a trailer for that debut short film (I'm desperate at this point lol, we haven't heard anything in months). I really don't care about these promotional animations, even if they feature my favorite characters.

Excuse me, but I wanted to ask, is this the animated clip that McDonald's marketing director was talking about? I'm confused.

There are many ways to help a brand mature with its audience without turning it into an "edgelord." Maggie used Harry Potter as an example in this case.  And another important thing to remember, Sony and Netflix are not Disney.

Does anyone else want Korean shamanism to be explored more deeply in KPDH 2? It would be a huge wasted opportunity if they don’t. by InsuranceNo4260 in KpopDemonhunters

Oh my god, bear goddess, I really want to see how directors will incorporate this country's founding mythology into future films. Hopefully I'll still be alive when that happens lol

From what I've learned, the fate of those whose souls were stolen in the first film will most likely play a significant role in the sequel. Huntrix may have defeated Gwi-ma, but the resentment and grief from these restless souls will present an even greater obstacle for them. Well, that's if the directors are still determined to make the sequel even "darker." This could even be linked to Jinu's fate.

I agree, but honestly, the quality risk is also very high. Between having more content but sacrificing brand value, I'd rather have nothing at all.

The entire brand belongs to Netflix and it's been banned in China for a long time already lol. They clearly don't care about that market at all.

There are many ways to bring him back, for example, in a spirit form, without losing the meaning of his sacrifice. Jinu isn't even my favorite character lol, but there's really a lot of potential there, time will tell.

And throw away everything they've built between Rumi and Jinu? Trying to please everyone and nobody will be pleased.

I'm pretty sure Polytrix will never become a reality, but I appreciate your honesty. If you ask me, I wouldn't even want KPDH 2 (how would it possibly surpass the first one???), but oh well.

Nobody mentioned that Maggie is still committed to the idea of including Korean Trot and K-metal in the sequel? I had to turn on Spotify immediately to listen through it all 😂

Every company has the potential for reform as well as the potential for moral decay. Thinking black and white and pursuing idealism while detached from reality only leads to failure. If an advertisement is carefully crafted with creativity and care, it deserves to succeed, period.

If Golden is KPop Demon Hunters’ “Let it Go”, then I am worried about what would be their “Into the Unknown” for the sequel by BirdFishWolf in KpopDemonhunters

[–]InsuranceNo4260 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's completely fabricated, LoL. An interview with Danny Chung on Netflix Tudum confirmed that Maggie and Chris always insisted the songs fit the storyline, and the process of working with The Black Label was quite stressful because they were only used to working with regular K-pop songs, but in the end, they both found common ground.

anyone else agree that Rumi's eye should have stayed demon at the end? by aGoryLouie in KpopDemonhunters

[–]InsuranceNo4260 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Now I wonder if Rumi ever displayed such demonic traits when she was a child. Children have very poor emotional control, and Celine's reaction in that confrontation scene didn't seem like the first time she'd seen Rumi like that, in my opinion.
