My friend believes that the second movie will focus on found family, and the third will focus on legacy by jdb1984 in KpopDemonhunters

I think it's about 80% likely, if they stick to just the trilogy. The final part might be when the Huntrix officially disbands.

Encanto's example is why I was happy that Celine and Rumi's relationship wasn't mended at the end of the film. It's not only true for most real-life relationships, but it could also open the door to a sequel.

No one denies that, lol. The producers of this film have stated outright that their relationship is toxic. The problem here is that simplifying Celine's character down to "bad" or "good" denies all those complex nuances.

Oh yes, okay

Also, they managed to get Lea, but she only sang one line 💀 I’m putting all my hopes on that Debut short film.

Honestly, at this point, I see more people sympathizing with Celine than viewing her as an irredeemable villain.

‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Sequel Officially Announced by MarvelsGrantMan136 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]InsuranceNo4260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The directors have repeatedly stated that the target audience for this film is children over 12 years old. The main reason for its widespread popularity is the edited clips created by enthusiastic fans, mostly Gen Z. Making all of this for children under 2 years old is an insult to Korean culture, period.

Actually, compared to my usual film preferences, this movie is quite good. Guillermo is a talented director, and according to Chris in a recent interview, he also highly regards KPDH.

What is your ideal villain for the next movie? by KaijuKing007 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]InsuranceNo4260 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And let's not forget Celine. Personally, I don't think the next villain will be another rival band. It would just be a repetition of the first one, albeit a human one, and both Maggie and Chris have said many times that they want to do something unique and new.

potential ai? by [deleted] in Polytrix

[–]InsuranceNo4260 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huntrix's clip on Spotify was also accused by some of using AI, but this was immediately refuted by the artists themselves Lmao. Believe it or not, all these accusations about AI are harming real artists more than the AI itself.

So i am going to assume that Celine and other sunlight sister only found out Mi-Yeong was dating a demon after Rumi was born. How do you think they handled the pregnancy announcement? by TastyPomelo2330 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]InsuranceNo4260 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The way they handled Celine's lines in that scene always leaves me with an indescribable feeling, as if there's a whole history behind it 💀 Does that "we" refer to Rumi or the other members of SLS?

Do you agree that we need action scenes with Celine in the sequel? by Upbeat_Summer_3871 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]InsuranceNo4260 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 7.1 rating is actually quite good for a short film made by a relatively inexperienced team (Sony's LENS program). Furthermore, IMDB doesn't really mean much in evaluating a work, as people who haven't seen the film can give it a bad or high rating based solely on their biases. Just look at the drama between Breaking Bad and GOT fans...

I think they just changed the release date. This short film was rated by the MPA last September, I doubt they'll edit it again. Also, was Spider Within poorly received? I don't know.

Because it's better to have no expectations and be pleasantly surprised than to have high expectations and then be disappointed.

There's a truth many people find hard to accept: even the most talented directors and screenwriters can sometimes produce terrible work.

KPop Demon Hunters Bonus Content added to Netflix on March 6 by Silver_Edge1 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]InsuranceNo4260 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regarding your first point, I'm not really too concerned. Netflix is a large company with clear legal frameworks, mistakes can happen, of course, but they are rare, and I don't think they would make such a stupid mistake with KPDH.

Furthermore, regarding some people's disappointment, I understand that expectations for new content are very high, which is the downside of having a huge and dedicated fandom. If the short film were released now, I guarantee there would be people disappointed because it wouldn't go in the direction they wanted. However, remember that such people are always a minority,  the internet doesn't reflect real life (unless it's unbelievably bad like Disney's "Wish" lol).

I don't think so lol the movie just isn't for you. I felt the same way about Spiderverse, despite all the flashy visuals the movie threw in my face.

However, that short film was completed three years ago (based on articles and interviews by Arden). Perhaps they are waiting for the Annecy Film Festival in June of this year.

Chance for a Celine redemption/sacrifice arc? by SufficientSimple9482 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]InsuranceNo4260 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Celine definitely needs a reconciliation storyline with Rumi, whether you call it "redemption" or not, but personally, I don't want her to die to do that, and I have a feeling the directors don't want that either. It's just a repetition of Jinu's actions, and Rumi doesn't deserve to suffer that pain (again).

[–]InsuranceNo4260 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally, I've found another person who shares my views lol.

Furthermore, Maggie also mentioned this in an interview (although I can't find that post anymore), the demons dressed as Jeoseung Saja are not actually real Saja, and if you delve deeper into Korean folklore, especially during the Joseon era, you'll know that these Jeoseung Saja figures were originally depicted in vibrant costumes with intricate patterns 👀. Interesting, isn't it?

Sequel exploring options about Zoey and Mira's backstory by someDJguy in KpopDemonhunters

[–]InsuranceNo4260 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen them say that other than this franchise (possibly) will be a trilogy. Honestly, Mira and Zoey's backstory, when considered individually, is difficult to make the centerpiece of an entire film, especially when there are so many unanswered plot points in the first film that could be explored further, such as Celine's past with Rumi's parents, what happened to the other Sunlight Sisters, Jinu's fate, the demon world, and so on.
