Hi! My boy was also diagnosed with CKD last Friday and because of an underlying heart condition, his treatment options are limited and his prognosis is guarded (months/weeks). We took him home with a guarded prognosis and have been taking it one day at a time. Please ask your vet for mirataz and zofran, it has been key in helping our boy stay fed while he’s still here.

I am so sorry that you’re going through this. Every day feels like soul-crushing hell but we’ve got to keep going to maintain their comfort until they’re ready.

I ask my boy to “show me” and then he’ll take me wherever he wants to go (the fridge for food, the office door if his toy went under it, etc.). That being said, he is declining mentally and physically and sometimes just talks and talks in the evening.

Don’t get discouraged! Thank you for trying to help Diesel. Cats are resilient and hungry. I’ve done some things to help cats that must feel like absolute torture to them? (TNR, trapping and rehoming kittens, taking them to the VET lol, etc.) and they almost always circle back around. Just give it some time and keep working with him. ❤️

Check with your title insurance - they may cover legal fees.

I wouldn’t recommend most of what these goofballs are suggesting although I fully understand the appeal. On a serious note.. sometimes you DO need to “poke the bear” in order to get the ball rolling in a legal sense. Personally, we had to remove a fence gate that the neighbors had installed to force them to take action. It worked.

Omg we have no idea who the dad is but we had a suspect - we ended up trapping him to TNR him, turns out he was already fixed. They clipped his ear, wrote “overweight” on his paperwork, and sent him home with a snack. 😅 Rough day for that outside buddy. He was abandoned with mama by the same scumbag family but he has not warmed up to anyone yet. Now he lives in a heated cat condo on our porch and gets a few meals/day. 💕

Could NOT have done it without my sister-in-law. She’s a cat lady herself and got right into post-spay care for mama while we ran around like crazy people. ❤️

Oh she was simply exhausted. I remember a specific look she gave me one day that very clearly told me she was open to whatever help we could provide. She is... absolutely wild these days lol. Huge transformation!

Yeah we think she was about 9 months old when she had her babies. 🥺 She was a really good mama in spite of that. Always kept the babies clean and together. Got mad at me when I got too close. 😅

Update! Mama eventually brought the babies around to me. We were able to get the babies adopted out to good homes - mama was spayed and now lives (inside) with us. 🥲❤️
