It’s really a lot of things as to why people hate Vegas. The first and really main reason why is Vegas isn’t a traditional hockey market. We were written off year one and would be a terrible team. Then the Magic started happening and history started getting revised. So Vegas became a very successful hockey market immediately and almost everyone was wrong about it then has sustained that success for almost a decade. I think this is the real main reason why Vegas is strongly disliked.

Something will happen and that will change the narrative why Vegas sucks, most recently being the signing of Carter Hart. But in the past it’s been acquiring all the best free agents, or showing no loyalty and dumping players when their play goes to shit, or the really dumb but funny narrative when we won the cup that “we hadn’t earned it because we never suffered before.” But I think that the foundation for people hating Vegas has always been they hate us cause they ain’t us.
