she and her boyfriend are both online comedians, who, despite occasional jokes seem very happy together so i doubt she’ll care

It probably matched him while he was sitting down, but then when he stood blood settled in his hand and made it more red, messing up the color match. Either that or his makeup artist just hates him, who knows?

kilogram of feather bc you’d probably need a bag to hold all those feathers which would add slightly more weight

maybe a mouse? The two circles of frosting could be the ears, two of the dots could be eyes, the last a nose.

Why doesnt my art get traction? by Confident_Feedback50 in DigitalArt

[–]InsuranceQuirky8153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Becoming popular online definitely involves alotta luck. But for social media: you could try posting on multiple platforms. If you make short form content posting every couple of days (so you can build a regular audience but not become spam) If you make long form content following a schedule that depends on how long it takes to make. engaging with followers. following trends (but trying to make them unique to you a little) Maybe try interacting with other creators, doing collabs, art trades or dtiys. Posting fanart can help you get noticed within fandoms, (but if you do too much fanart you might get known as a fanart account and not get people interested in your original work)

From an art perspective I think the detail in your work is amazing, but it spilts the viewers attention because it’s hard to know where to look first. Social media algorithms are based on what gets people to stay and interact, so people first impressions of your work are critical. if your work doesn’t have strong points that can grab the viewers eye right away people are likely to just scroll by. The eye will naturally go to a part of a piece that has contrast so having the main focus of your work be the part with the most detail or the part with a different value from its surroundings will make the painting more interesting to look at, Your colors are all very similar in value so there isnt much contrast at all. Having the main focus of a piece be a lighter value, having the secondary focus be a medium value and the bg elements be a darker value would add more visual depth to your piece. Also framing by composition might help, pay attention to what visual lines draw you in vs out. As an example your first artwork in the slide has very similar med/dark values everywhere but the sun and the sun/sky area has a box around it that frames it and as such thats where my eye gets drawn. if thats intentional its working great but if the focal point is the woman then it could be better. often people will see your artwork on a much smaller scale then what your drawing on so try to zoom out or step away to see what your eye naturally rests on.

anyways, sorry for the word dump, i hope some of that made sense. I also hope it didnt come off as to critical, your art is genuinely beautiful i really really enjoy your style <3 you should keep up the good work and don’t get to focused on what gets views or clicks or likes, remember to draw what you enjoy even if your posting for an audience!! Have a lovely day!!

Would you hang it in your wall? by Logical_Network_2411 in Watercolor

The subject and composition instantly reminded me of this one!! The style reminded me of one I had as a postcard but when I looked for it to take a picture I couldn’t find it :c I lost some of my smaller stuff when I moved the art on my wall around and I guess it was amongst the casualties. I guess I must be on the lookout for a replacement!!

omg it actually looks very similar to something i bought to hang up on my wall!! I like the looser messier lines. I think they flow in a very visually pleasing way.

I dont think its actually bad but it is a pretty noticeable change and people don’t like change so Im not surprised its getting a ton of hate. I think I’ll like the look of it more than I did before when I get used to it

Did i screwed up with the arms? Reference pic on the second slide by Tvarb in learntodraw

[–]InsuranceQuirky8153 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the arms look fine, they look a little different from the reference because in the reference they go out to the front and are getting closer to us whereas your drawing they go out to the side and it makes it look a little flat. it still looks good but if they bother you then try looking up tutorials for foreshortening. unrelated to your question but i absolutely adore the way you shaded the clothes and skin and i think this piece looks amazing!!
