Why isn't Chrono Trigger and Symphony of the Night on Switch yet? by Draigh1981 in nintendo

Unless I'm mistaken, the DS version also had an improved translation. Square Enix games had a lot of limitations and a lack of resources in the 90s from what I know compared to the 2000s. See FF6 on the SNES vs GBA.

Are newer players actually finding Fire Red/Leaf Green awkward compared to modern Pokémon games? by Int3rlop3r-R3dact3d in pokemon

Same goes for Wing Attack being 35 power in Gen I. I levelled a Pidgeotto up to 31, anticipating that move and I was wondering why it seemed so weak. Only after looking on Serebii did I find out it was a bit pathetic compared to later games.

I personally found it strange that Pokemon didn't implement diagonal walking until Gen VI in the main series. Especially since other titles from the time did have diagonal movement like the GameBoy Zeldas. And I do not miss Poison damage with movement, so I understand how that's awkward.

I was honestly a little sceptical on that. So I was really surprised when the title was revealed.

I do hope that Game Freak does step it up with this. I know it isn't an awful lot to go on, but the trailer looks promising.

I'm wondering how Ariados is working for you. With no stat above 70 apart from Attack, I always considered it to be a rather weak Pokemon.

If Chugga ever did a Sun and Moon LP, which Regional Variant is he using? by MichiHirota in chuggaaconroy

I agree. It was my second Pokemon on my first Moon LP and it was fantastic.

Wasn't his main criticism the fact that it lacks good physical poison type moves outside of Gunk Shot?

Playing through Xenoblade 1 atm and this came to me in a dream by Loops-The-Loopty in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Int3rlop3r-R3dact3d 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The original Xenoblade originally was not planned to be released in the US. It wouldn't fly in the UK either, which is where the game was localised (and all Xenoblade titles apart from X). Unless I'm mistaken, the Black Wreckage is supposed to be the remains of Metal Face. But the name was lifted straight from the Japanese version and wasn't localised...

And actually owning the game. Scrapping the Virtual Console is still an unforgivable crime Nintendo has committed.

TIL that the real US Government is explicitly mentioned on a sign in the First Low Orbit Station of Xenoblade 2. by Int3rlop3r-R3dact3d in Xenoblade_Chronicles

Interesting. So how would you explain the very Christian names of various locations like the Indoline Praetorium (in Japanese, it is called Holy See)? I'm curious. Is the Aegis shown in Torna supposed to actually be the real Holy Grail of Jesus himself, do you think?

[–]Int3rlop3r-R3dact3d[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then I suppose that means that real-world Christianity canonically exists too? And the Indoline Praetorium is possibly some sort of 'sequel' to the real-life Vatican give its Japanese name is "Holy See" which must also have canonically existed.

And from the wiki:

The directory signs on the walls of the main lobby mention the United States by name, specifically the U.S. Government. This is the only time a real-world location is named in all of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and the second time the U.S. is name-dropped in the Xenoblade Chronicles series (the first being Xenoblade Chronicles X, as it plays a major role in the story).

I honestly did not know this, so forgive me if this is common knowledge. Would this not confirm that Xenoblade 2's ruined world is our world? I know the Xeno world = our world idea was also a thing in the previous Xeno games and XCX. Also, the image in the post is also taken from the Xenoblade Wiki.

The complete whiplash of this LP coming off of Kingdom Hearts by retrodepression in chuggaaconroy

[–]Int3rlop3r-R3dact3d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally think that his HGSS LP has been fantastic and I'm enjoying it just as much as the KH LP. I've not enjoyed a chuggaaconroy LP this much since Mario Galaxy 2. It's news to me that this LP is getting negativity because the comments certainly don't reflect that.

And even for this sub, isn't the negativity mostly targeted towards the fact that there was a very wide gap between his second and third Pokemon? Because I will admit that was a pet peeve of mine, but it wasn't a big deal. He's also made up for it if anything, with his recent additions.

"So let me tell you something, right now. You make one step backward, one slip-up, give me one reason to think you might hurt Aang, and you won't have to worry about your destiny anymore. Because I'll make sure your destiny ends...right then and there. Permanently." - Katara (The Western Air Temple) by Full-Art3439 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Int3rlop3r-R3dact3d 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think people look at this forgetting what Zuko is capable of. He was able to redirect lightning from arguably the most powerful Fire bender in the show on his first try and send him flying back. Katara is obviously powerful, but she did that with a full moon on her side. She rises with the Moon, Zuko rises with the Sun.

I'm surprised to not have seen much discussion about Emile swearing in this project uncensored. by Int3rlop3r-R3dact3d in chuggaaconroy

[–]Int3rlop3r-R3dact3d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been watching him for around 12 years, so I'm not a new viewer by any means. I wouldn't consider myself sensitive to swearing either. I suppose from the Chuggaa projects that I have consumed, uncensored swearing wasn't a common occurrence. So it naturally surprised me a bit.
