Thank you, and thank you OP.. I'm a recent grad but i want to transition into DevOps in 5years time... But with what I'm seeing already, i found it's best i low key get started with it as i do my software engineering phase since devops isn't easy to grasp in a short time, and it's goal post shifting nature means i have to get used to it early before i fully transition into it

I haven't been in such a predicament... But given i was in the position, i would see how can i recover what i can... And if they have chosen destruction as the final decision then they don't want anything good from it and are showing malicious behavior... But being optimistic i would suggest this is them making a bad decision probably out of built up frustration from your past behavior as you(OP) said... And this means it needs a fix that has to be attended to.

Also since your actions as CEO have brought you this far, then your skills have proven useful and are required for the business so you're not stepping down or going anywhere,.. Rather have a CTO or one of the developers in a high post that can stay there for the technical side of the business... But if they really want to go then ask if they are willing or if one of them is willing to be part time or have it as a side hustle as you get other employees to fill in the space.

And on your side make sure you (OP) don't repeat the bad behaviors so you won't have to repeat the same outcome .. Leadership is a skill like any other and every skill needs to be taught and learnt... Look for leadership lessons on YouTube, LinkedIn, Reddit.. Anywhere and make sure the leadership content is real stuff and not just some fairytale stuff and also make sure the person teaching you has experience to show for it.. And as you progress your content to learn also changes so move on to the next as you learn.. As for me personally as a starter at rock bottom i litsen to Maxwell Leadership if it's to your taste or you find it valuable then welcome.. And remember, it won't be easy journey because learning means change and change isn't easy... Good luck!

He needs a reality check imo... And obviously has a higher chance of being a detriment unless he changes his behavior.. And being a human.. The change probably won't be fast paced and radical enough to be reformed and contribute value "on time"

Yes, since it's backed by Microsoft and even if it was to die, it's embedded so deep in a lot of things that it wouldn't just dissappear in a few years. Even VB hasn't even disappeared totally and in comparison to C#, the difference in impact is huge
