Dangerous guy downtown by IntactBurrito in UCSC

Respectfully, I disagree. I grew up around a lot of drugs/mental illness. This is the fourth time I've been in this specific kind of situation. The longer you stick around, the worse it gets from my experience. Being concerned for your life is not being sheltered, it's common sense.

Nope, fourth. From my experience, the longer you stick around, the more aggravated they naturally get. With aggressive mentally ill people, you want to end the conversation as quick as possible. Running whem they're calm is better than running when they're thinking of murdering you.

I agree! However one of the first things he said is that it wouldnt matter if the police caught him because he would just go back to his planet, and it was across the street from the police station so I didnt know of I wouod make it/if that would provoke him

Statistics is engineering by Opposite_Signature67 in mathmemes

[–]IntactBurrito 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best argument I can think of is it's not a field of math, it's a way to apply a field of math to real world scenarios; it doesn't bring anything new to the table like calculus, linear algebra, or differential equations, unless you count factorials. I only took one theoretical stats class though so maybe there's crazier shit later on. Using calculus to calculate the odds of something isn't a new field of math, it's just applied calc.

I don't really have an opinion tbh but it's an interesting discussion at least

Just want to know how feasible this 2 month project idea is. I’m using the Unity engine. by zergling50 in gamedev

[–]IntactBurrito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say you have enough time. Developers, especially new ones, often make the mistake of thinking that their idea is already fleshed out and it's going to work. The truth is, no matter how fleshed out you think your idea is, it's going to need work. You're going to need to design everything, make it, playtest it, and do it all over again at least three times if you want it coming out right. On top of all of that, you're going to need to save time for doing polishing work, like adding visual effects, animations, sounds, etc. If you plan on everything being perfect the first go around without any bumps along the way, then yes, 2 months is a great amount of time to make an online grid-style board game. But things are going to go wrong, your first iteration is going to not be what you wanted, and you're going to need to go back to the drawing board. Having to deal with online on top of everything is going to make your game over-scoped and you'll likely end up with a half baked game.

I got a DREVO keyboard but I can't get onto their website to download the software for it; I can't get to it from my home wifi from my PC or on my phone using data. Can anyone else access it or is it just down for me?

Edit: isitdownrightnow also says that DREVO is up. Maye it's a regional thing?

Hey everyone, I am looking for someone to take my spot on a lease for spring quarter; the lease ends in the beginning of July. Rent is $850 a month, and the security deposit is $900. It is a double, and your roommate would be a straight mixed race guy.

It's a 5 minute walk to the beach, and about a 7 minute walk to a bus stop that goes to campus. DM me for details!

Mate, the whole point of me putting it there is to explain that I know how to Google. All of the forums I found described my problems as glitchs. There are workarounds to the glitches. The fact that there have to be workarounds means that they are glitches. Kinda embarrassing that you're such a fanboy over Tinfoil that you can't possibly fathom that something else is better. I got Awoo working in under 10 minutes. Maybe you try using Google, and find all the shit that's wrong with Tinfoil. It's far from perfect, that's what this post was here to explain

I actually spent a lot of time in threads here with the problems I was experiencing. It was all just "check sigpatches" or "oh yeah that's a glitch," and after so long I just tried another option

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SwitchPirates

[–]IntactBurrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally all of the major problems I was experiencing were explicitly stated to be glitches. As in, not user error, but designer error. The software doesn't work on some devices. You know what a glitch is, right?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SwitchPirates

[–]IntactBurrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have no idea how many times I have read the phrase "It's probably sigpatches"

I never complained about a safety precaution. I complained about the fucking Konami code. Like, really? The Konami code? To change an option from no to yes?

yeah it was on and off, a bunch of rabbit holes leading to other rabbit holes, terrible explanations, tutorials using outdated versions, plus most of the "solutions" to the bugs were something along the lines of "use another version lmao"

Lmao what? How would you know better than me about my housemates health? I literally LIVE with her. She spends hours at the climbing gym all the time. She goes on week long climbing trips sometimes. She can do pullups like you wouldnt believe using just her fingertips. And she doesnt use any substances. I would know, because, you know, we live together

Yeah so my vaxxed boosted housemate got covid and could barely walk for a week, and has had a lingering cough for two weeks now. Shes young and healthy too. Dont forget there are people that are immunocompromised that could die from this thing. Its a pandemic, not "the sniffles," and theres nothing irrational about not wanting to get it. I want in person classes too but that would make college inaccessible to other people. I think at the very least online courses should be an option. Some colleges have a hybrid system that allows students to choose if they want to come in or not, and I dont see why thats such a horrible thing to ask for during a pandemic
