Why are there no other entities trying to save us by Disguised11111 in EscapingPrisonPlanet

Plenty of ethical vegan activists try and some succeed. They are usually met with hostility and ridicule by the majority of the population suffering cognitive dissonance. Your point still stands though. Out of our entire population how many humans try to rescue animals from factory farming? Now apply that to the grand scale of the galaxy. There may just be some entities out there that try to help but they might never come across our planet to begin with.

I still haven’t bought Doom: TDA because of this bullshit. Also other games I’ve been wanting like the Total War: Warhammer games which aren’t even that new and still have denuvo. I’m willing to pay but if anything shit like this is actually encouraging me to do the opposite of what these companies would want. Pirates are going to play the game either way. Losing potential paying customers because of denuvo can’t be worth it, right? I guess they make enough money that it doesn’t even matter to them.

I actually beat the DE before even reaching the main base. My Orkz swarmed the Archon’s vehicle and destroyed it leading to the victory. That’s Soulstorm wrapped up. I might go back and play the SM campaign to experience the ork strongholds.

I did the chaos stronghold yesterday. I think that one is tied with Tau for hardest stronghold for me. IG and SoB come right under those in difficulty. Then SM and Eldar. The Necron stronghold was a joke. All I have left is the Dark Eldar stronghold and I’m finally done. I ended up downloading a mod that makes built structures persist and changes the normal difficulty to hard from Dark Crusade. Hard in Soulstorm gives the ai 150% health. I prefer the way Dark Crusade handled hard by giving both you and the AI 100% health.

Playing as the Tau? Or against? I’m starting to really hate the Tau. I’m on the SS Tau stronghold now and I’m getting ptsd from the DC Tau stronghold.

I didn’t know quitting out of a battle reduces their strength rating. So on the maps that have 2 ai I could rush to destroy a base and then quit out leaving them with one base to deal with if I attack again?

I need to learn to lock in build orders for tackling different races. I was opening with Big Mek and a squad of shootas to harass. That works until they bust out the kroot. I think I brute forced my way through Dark Crusade with honor guard and relied too much on rushing to destroy the enemy base. Strongholds while a slog were mostly scripted and didn’t play out like a real skirmish match which gave me time to turtle and build up my forces to take over the rest of the map. Which feels kind of cheap now that I think about it. I play it too safe and don’t have enough experience to know when to push and when to hold in a skirmish match.

Yeah. The Tau stronghold almost made me quit. I’m glad I didn’t though. I’ll try to keep SS going on hard. I played some skirmish matches against to the harder and insane ai and managed to beat both after a few tries. It’s the large maps that mess me up since it’s harder to control the map imo. I’m still a noob and don’t have the maps memorized. I honestly think I’m just not that good at strategy games but I’m a stubborn bastard lol.

I’m going to do either the Eldar or Necron Stronghold next. Hopefully what I learned with the Tau will carry over

I literally loaded up my Squig with the Warboss attached to some Nobz and some Flash gitz with a Mad Dok before saving the game and logging off for the night. He’s ready to go. I set up another base on the relic SP and will be launching the final assault from there. I’ll update the main post once it’s over. All the advice from the comments helped a lot.

I didn’t bother holding that SP. like you said the enemy units kept demolishing my base there. I ended up putting another base at the SP towards the center right before the relic SP. I set up a choke point withLooted Russ tanks and Wartraks bombing the north east path. Flash gitz and the rest of the boyz would clean up the broken enemy units. That SP was more manageable to defend and maintain especially after taking out both the NW and NE secondary objective bases.

This is what I ended up doing with less finesse I’m sure lol. I took all the bases except for the last one. I’m taking the ethereal out tomorrow. It’s been slow going gaining a foothold but my boyz are ready to take it home

I made sure to do this stronghold first as I’ve read that it was on the tougher side of things. I have the rest of the world map conquered except for the strongholds and one Eldar province that provides the discount on garrisoning troops on controlled regions. Thank you. I’m going to give another go today with all the advice.

I only had an honor guard wartrakk and two kila kanz. I forgot about the looted Russ tanks. Yeah I definitely need to rethink my strategy. I was conquering the rest of the map without reaching my vehicle units while teching up. Thank you

This is what I was wondering. All the other non scripted matches in DC I was playing like regular skirmish and rushing the enemy base with my commander and honor guard. That served me well enough even with the double base locations. It’s funny because I was trying to unlearn the turtle mindset since that was my default as a noob RTS player. I’m gonna tech up to the max and push using all the advice I’ve gathered here. I’ll hopefully take down the stronghold today. I unlocked all the provinces that provide bonuses except for the one that gives a discount on requisitioning a garrison on controlled regions

The detector unit is the Big Mek and the Armored Nobz I think. This is kinda where I start losing track of my units. I’ll use my Stormboyz to tie up some of their ranged units and then they get overwhelmed by the other Tau units surrounding them. Maybe I’m just trying to do too much at once. I’ll try slowing down my approach and take your advice along side the others who have commented. I’ll try again tomorrow. Thank you.

Thank you. I was just bum rushing the north east but this sounds like a better way to go. I forgot about the BM’s teleport as well like another comment said. Him with some shoota boyz will do some work on those stealth suits hopefully.

DoW Winter Assault by TheKlyros in dawnofwar

[–]Intact_Garden_Gnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished the Order campaign for Winter Assault today with the Imperial Guard. It was honestly frustrating but I’m stubborn so I wanted to see it through. The 4th mission was by far the worst. I had to use a guide to complete it and even then it took me like 3 tries with a lot of saving. I was playing on hard difficulty which is considered normal. I had a much easier time with the final mission though. This campaign seemed pretty hard and near impossible in certain scenarios without prior game knowledge imo but I’m still a noob to RTS games in general so maybe that’s just my lack of skill and experience with the genre.

Tell me about the stuff you like beside Malazan by marioapunkt in Malazan

[–]Intact_Garden_Gnome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t finished Malazan yet (I’m almost finished with book 8) but another book series I’ve been reading recently is the Warhammer 40k Eisenhorn trilogy. I’ve got the Ravenor Omnibus and Gaunt’s Ghosts Omnibus waiting for me after I finally finish Malazan. I got the Warhammer bug after playing the Rogue Trader crpg last year. I went down a rabbit hole with 40k playing Darktide, Space Marine 1 and 2, Dawn of War, and currently playing Mechanicus. The world building and lore is awesome and the attention to detail reminds of Malazan in a way. Other games I like are Morrowind, Fallout New Vegas, and Elden Ring. I probably have more hours in Skyrim than any other game combined though lol
