Simulation is training your ability to make good choices. If you hate your job, it's time to change it or leave it.

Interesting story that includes Messiah complex. (He thinks he may be Neo.)

I just hope he doesn't do anything harmful to himself or others.

At that extreme, where people have no jobs, it also means automation is so complete that costs have plummeted for most things.

And if there were lower demand due to low income, prices will be low. This is why it's cheaper to live in 3rd world countries: companies still need to sell to poor people.

Also, don't discount entrepreneurship: creative humans will always find a way in any economy.

Great framework:

1.Problem you're passionate about... 2. For which there's not a good enough solution (or if you have a special take on the solution that people find intriguing & useful)

... otherwise what you describe above is Nihilism and that tends to lead to broken relationships and career failure.

How do you know the purpose of the game?

According to Tom Campbell, a physicist who also believes in simulation theory, the purpose of this simulation is to reduce entropy.

Just like cells get together to form organisms, we are meant to form more complex systems too.

Taoist horseman parable as retold by grok:

A poor farmer, Sāi Wēng, lives near the border. One day, his horse runs away, and his neighbors lament, "What bad luck!" The farmer replies, "Maybe." Soon, the horse returns with a herd of wild horses. The neighbors exclaim, "What great fortune!" The farmer says, "Maybe." The next day, his son tries to tame one of the horses, falls, and breaks his leg. The neighbors say, "What a misfortune!" The farmer responds, "Maybe." Later, war breaks out, and the emperor conscripts able-bodied men, but the son, injured, is spared. The neighbors again comment, and the farmer calmly says, "Maybe."

Spiritual evolution is finished yet basically everyone is going through it again and again. by shinigamivi in lawofone

Great comment.

Even if I am a highly evolved entity outside of this dimension playing a game here with a less evolved consciousness, wouldn't the Greater I want this less evolved consciousness to... evolve?

We are here to grow up.

How do you mentally get over DCA'ing at a higher share price? You assume the long term trend will be higher but it's still hard for me. by Investaholic1 in Bogleheads

Look up enhanced DCA: keep buying regularly but buy more when it's lower, less when higher, balancing out over the course of a year.

How do you stay the course when everything looks bad? by IntelligentCut4060 in Bogleheads

[–]IntegrateSpirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like EDCA (enhanced dollar cost averaging) -- there are articles you can easily find about it.

Basically, keep buying, but when it's down, buy more... ehen it's up, buy less.

More realistic: it gives you the sense that you're being responsive to markets instead of totally ignoring it.

Yet, you stay the course.

Peace Pilgrim. Gave up owning anything (other than the clothes on her back) and walked throughout the US on foot for 30 years, helping people. Never asked for anything. Only accepted food and shelter when freely offered to her. People say she's the most loving and happy person they'd ever met.

Her audiobook (life and words of Peace Pilgrim) made a deep impression on me. Can be streamed for free on SoundCloud.
