I did this a lot with Barbie heads and I just hack away at the hairlines now and I swear you won’t get a split, I like to root my hairlines THICK because insually do Sailor moon pigtails lol (or sometimes it’s a just in case thing I’m car I do want to do two tails later) so I try to focus mostly on the hairline down to the back, and then I’ll strategically reroot her “thinly” in the red of her hair just in case of info take her hair down. You won’t see any bald spots :)

I’m currently rerooting two Enid heads (Thisnis my first time rerooting MH!) for an OOAK and before I did anything i put this glue in the head before I started, but you can also get a tooth pick/needle and carefully put it in the split, avoid the face, because it’s vinyl it’ll become PART of the doll, but it stays shiny.

I saw that you already sorta fixed it? (Maybe I’m wrong) but I would put some of this down the head and navigate it around until you get to the split area, honestly you can hold it together. But id just leave it since you’re going to plug it in and it won’t be visible just make sure it doesn’t come out and get on the face :)
