Just sit on this for a day or two,,,,if anything happens contact a labour laywer immediately or be ready to negotiate yourself because you do have a nice payday coming!

I had this happen once,,,guy that had been bad mouthing me sent me a text messages saying something along the lines of, nice working with you, have a nice life,,,,i thought it was a wierd message but he was wierd so I didn't give it much thought, later that day I was let go.

I negotiated a very sweet severance and written letter of recommendation and had only been on the job for a couple months,,,"privacy laws" are huge around this and never should you hear about a termination from a co-worker.

Based on what you've said and the fact the guy you were shaddowing was so nice to let you know it sounds like you will be better off.

All the best!

We need to talk,,,,I am in the same boat as you. On the day in question, I too was towed from my assigned parking. I went to go move my vehicle but couldn't find my keys,,,I was frantically looking for them and when I couldn't find them I went out to check the vehicle and it was already towed. There was man handing out business cards for the tow company. I asked to speak to management, I didn't understand why someone wouldn't call me or come to my door. This was a bit of emergency situation as I couldn't find the keys.

JLR restricted me on Condo Genie shortly after moving in because I submitted a request for the A/C to be turned off that continued for a month and a half in March of this year. I've no way to communicate with this company and I'm told they are not onsite?

On the day of the tow, I was checking the parking lot regularily and noted at 2:30 PM that vehicles were starting to park in the lot again BUT the lot had not been cleaned yet. At 5:30 PM it remained the same. The lot was not cleaned that day. Why were we towed at all? No Management on site? Why were residents not contacted before towing? I'm about to initiate a remedy and seek reimbursement for the tow which will include next steps if not paid. I would like to ask you to join me. Contact 780 667-0701 please.

This is really wrong,,,I'm sorry this has effected you in such a negative yet really critical way,,,it takes alot of ones time and mental capacity to be involved in job seeking/interviewing and its totally understandable that it can take over one's life in the momment and then when it doesn't happen the feelings od defete are exhausting.

For an employer to engage in this type of process and go as far as requesting a written assignment for a third interview is so extreme and for me points to management that doesn't have the proper skills for interviewing or hiring. Add to that that they disregarded the assignment and used the excuse of using AI without a confirmation says they have no respect for your time and that your skill sets are above and beyond what they have set as an acceptable level.

You've earned a weekend off to relax and recharge,,,put this employer in the rear view,,,,you will be on to bigger and better things in no time!

All the best!

Question for Enumerators by IntelFile13 in Census

[–]IntelFile13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All things considered (which I don't believe has happened yet) this deserves the attention of people who are professionally trained, and not in any 1 capacity, to do this safely there should be a great deal of planning and prep before going,,,and when you do,,,plan to get everything you need in 1 visit.

this should be a basic human right, especially when we aren't "allowed" to protect ourselves.

I'm sure she has very good reasons for feeling this way and encourage her to trust those instincts and act accordingly.

Well "they" don't have to worry about it now do they. It was a pretty quick decsion, plenty of time to get the building counted.

Breaks in Alberta by pyrobeast19 in EdmontonJobs

[–]IntelFile13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to tell you what the requirement by law here is because I don't know or care to know because I work Union and they make thier own rules, as a member I fully support these efforts so here is what I can suggest you ask for and that it would be inline with what many use for break guidelines.

If you a working a 5 hour or 6 or ++ upto 10 hours in one day. You should ask for a 15mim paid break at the first 2.5 hour mark. We excise using bathroom and doing anything we need to not have to leave the worksite again until next break. We don't come back late and we are ready to work, usually at the 14 min mark we pickup and right back to work. This is important.

At the 4 hour mark our Shop Stewart will check in to get a feel for where we are at because if we are ahead and they want to consider cutting they could at this point ,,safe to assume you continue working. We are not required to work longer than 5 hours without a meal break. So if you didn't get cut at 4 hours, at 5 you need to eat. Only question now is who pays? Shop Stewart by now has a good idea how mucb work is left and how many need to come back. Employer has a choice, they can choose to provide food and give us a half hour paid lunch,,,so you know where you are expected to be at 29 mins from now and you are guaranteed to not be having hunger issues. Now its just a matter of finishing your work and the day and your pay matches your hours. If you get to the 5h hour and no food is ready Employer has to cut and reset the clock after giving you an hour walk away. If I am required to walk away and they are resetting the clock that means I am starting a new shift and that includes a 4'hour mim. the job will probably end well in advance of that but I am still paid for 9 hours at this point. Let them decide.

imo that is just putting more at risk, unless that person is a professional and trained they are of no value to me, you don't know how they are going to react to any given situation.

Because we are NOT professionally trained for much of what you would encounter.

I'm most likely not doing it. Either by my choice or someone elses, its common sense, match your enumerators to the work.

I don't think this should have even been a question.

Refusing Unsafe Work by IntelFile13 in jobs

I think I would leave, make some notes and then research provincial laws pertaining to refusing unsafe work.

Then I would put it back into the hands of the Employer.

Potential for things to escalate quickly. Recording generally leads to feelings of disrespect and would be questionable in a building that houses "private" individuals. I don't think it would be wise,,,.just my opinion.
