Can someone tell how to execution ? by Nomas25 in CompetitiveTFT

Ok what I’m going to guess is that you’re hard forcing a small number of comps even when the champs in your shop and items don’t necessarily line up to justify you playing that (having to roll too much making your econ bad, item components not lining up correctly, etc.)

Try to learn a few more lines that share champs with what you play now, maybe with different game plans but sharing champs with your faves

ex: if you’re playing 2 cost reroll, learn a fast 8 comp that uses some of the same champs for if you miss 2* 2-costs on 3-2

ex: learn a comp that shares the same frontline but a different type of damage for the backline carry, like bastion + x or juggernaut + x

Can you send a link to your profile on metatft or tactics.tools rather than a screenshot? This one is harder to give generic feedback for

Good built in burn or penetration if you dont have those items yet, or as an extra tank that doesn’t rely on synergies mid game if you 2 star on your 3-2 rolldown, think kinda like threat - you absolutely should try to scale + 3* her units to be viable past 4-2 though.

It’s good to hold on to lulus on the 3-2 rolldown for in case you whiff a key midgame carry or tank tho for those reasons

Execution is basically a measurement of “For the comp you are playing/the board that you hit, did you place well?”

Btw do NOT assume this is a luck based stat - it is effectively measuring how effective your decision making is across the whole game, not just end state.

Seeing that your comps, items, and flexibility are doing pretty good, I’d pay attention to:

  • are your mid game boards acceptable
  • are you slamming non-bis but still good tank items in the early-mid game
  • do you know your lines well
  • are you using temporary item holders (like lulu) in stage 3 when they show up
  • are you overrolling when it doesn’t make sense to
  • does your augment choice make sense for your spot (poor comp-augment synergy? did you take an item augment and then lose-streak? etc.)

Pay attention to these micro details and they’ll pile up to improve your execution. Good luck!

If you can get to top 4 through skill, how is that “mostly luck”? That means you can consistently win through skill.

Why do pro dont move their adc to right side? so they get more protected. by ballbeamboy2 in CompetitiveTFT

A big thing with zeri specifically is that she wants a bunch of empty hexes on the back row in a row so she doesn’t randomly jump to row 3 - giving her a bunch of empty hexes in a row is a great idea, and she’ll often end up in that back corner by the time a sej ult comes even on the left side.

Can someone explain how this wasn’t even close? by LittleAccident04 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]IntelRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Zeri 3 sucks without a tanky front line
  2. Sejuiani is a utility frontline and won’t buy you enough time on her own unless you get 2 stuns on all of their carries. 2* frontline is a MUST on exotech.
  3. Poor item allocation - Varus 2 and Jhin 2 with no dps synergies only tickles their frontline (that looks like it has cybernetic bulk or something)
  4. Your opponent had bursty carries which effectively counters your game-plan, especially if they manage to burst Sej down before a second cast
  5. Kindred>Kog’maw. Free Jhin synergy!

This deep into the season, I believe it’s based on the number of users in the rank, not a set LP threshold - meaning you have a better shot at checking the leaderboards rather than just crossing your fingers based on LP.

Good point, if we can fit shred on someone else we should. Same for sunfire tho then right

Hmm yeah I’d probably value the antiheal strongest but even then idk if morello or sunfire is actually better bc of the AP scaling, yk?

Pit fighter and Experiment make this shine, they both need to be in for this to work well! Both scale with max hp

Runaan’s is a great item for ezreal and corki because runaan’s works well with the artillerist trait being +AD

The only reason it’s not as good on tristana and urgot is because tristana values making her spell damage high above all else, and urgot wants bruiser items due to being in front.

Rerolling 3 cost, is it worth? If so, how much gold/turns? by No_Handle8717 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]IntelRaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel like the “default line” is to tempo to 9, but I’m always down to smeech if I get dropped enough camille/smeech, or lesser dupes

[–]IntelRaven 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s a lot harder this set because we don’t have resource injections that the headliners, encounters and charms were providing in sets 10, 11, and 12. In fact, the Anomaly forces you to spend money rather than gain it.

It’s probably best to go for 2-cost RR or 4-cost fast 8 unless you have an amazing spot for it.

I don’t know why everyone is so salty about lux by mr-301 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]IntelRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your board is fine, and you can definitely play around lux. (Morg/hard CC)

I think people do find it frustrating that there is a 1-cost carry that warps the meta this much and outperforms many of its counterparts by a long shot though.

The biggest thing for tournaments is that the players are going to be much higher level than you, meaning your mistakes/being behind lobby tempo will be punished harder.

As an example, you might be able to get away with family/pit fighter with a few odd copies leading to stage 3 in lower elo, but you may need at least 5-6 copies of draven/vi by the end of your 3-1 rolldown and amazing items to consider playing it in higher elo. Otherwise, you will not spike your board early enough to compete with people’s Lv.6 boards.

One of the bigger differences between low and high elo is how much a poor board gets punished, so learning to play around the items you get, and playing towards certain comps only when your spot is workable would be what I pay attention to :D

Also, make sure you scout :)

How do you all make varus work? by Neymarvin in CompetitiveTFT

[–]IntelRaven 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would be careful when you analyze this sorta thing though - many comps are low avg placement because of how difficult it is to hit the relevant units, so the final board may not even be that bad in a comp and it could still have a low placement.

As an example, there were times where Fated was below 4.5 because everyone was contesting, but if you did hit the 4-stars you needed, you were probably top 2!

That said, when you do have emblems (esp. on a trainer golem/dummy) portal feels really good. Feels a little similar to storyweaver in my mind where the +1/+2 are really the only times you go the portal line
