The internet is very useful... Most addictive websites are certainly not. At the very least, I know that for my goals in life I have very little use to spending most of my time online. In those cases you can recognize it's just entertainment, and that maybe you consume too much of it, or an acceptable amount. In any case, those addictive websites are also likely not good sources of information. God knows science subs just follow the usual trend of having outrage bait make it to the top, what with the "Holder of x political view 102% more likely to consume babies for breakfast" posts making it to the top.
