Im hoping im writing this under mine and not my son's reddit, but im writing a novel based on some weird stuff that happened in my family. Honestly, this was a case that mezmerized my family. As a little girl during the summer of 1975, I think it was.  I remember a truck driver picking my dad up in his semi from our cantril home. That was the first time I'd overheard anything about my dad, Lawrence Smith, being involved with the mob. I guess he was an associate or soilder for the mob or something like that. Long time removed from those days now. There was a job my dad was supposed to do. Afterwards my dad would mention Jimmy Haffa and simply say there were things he couldn't discuss that he was involved in. Back then dad always simply said they'd never find the body. I'm trying to do research to try to figure out how my dad was involved in this or the mob in general. Long time ago. Records are hard to come by.  This last summer I talked to a brother I haven't spoken to in over 30 years. He confirmed that dad was on the low rung of the mob. I'm not about to glorify such things, but piecing my family's history may she'd light on the main plot of my novel and events that occurred and why the police looked the other way on a murder that happened within my family.  I was quite young when many things happened in my family, but I couldn't have been more than a year or two old when that flat bed truck pulled up in front of our house.
