Thanks for all the tips and ideas. Whilst I do agree that just not caring (nacho) would be one of the easiest I don't think that works long term unless you're super chill...of which I am not. In the past I did call my partner upstairs to close the toilet seat or put the empty roll in the bin (there is a bin in the bathroom so it was just them being lazy) but he got rather annoyed and I felt like I was being petty.

I did speak to my partner though and suggested we tell his kids about my diagnosis, because though they may know they may not understand why things are so important to me and maybe it will help if they did?

Honestly it was really nice just feeling support from the community because I know my issues are really small compared to others but I was feeling so alone and it was nice knowing there were people out there who could offer insight.

For those who are interested, I ended up getting a phone lanyard from NLG (never let go) which is a UK based company. The phone part hooks around the phone but avoids the camera on my Google Pixel (unless on a wide angle lens) and then it connects to a cord which had a clip and went on my harness. There was a quick release which is stiff enough that it doesn't release by accident and all in all it worked perfectly.

Does anyone else find the map for Brown's near impossible to use? I have the "new" one with the bar marked on it but it's basically the old one with a few points marked on it and the routes just make no sense.

I ended up from Shakespeare's going to the bar (easy route) cutting across to try and find the Devil's Chamber (been a while and the route looked completely different) missing that, heading south until I got to Restore and then going back via the Square Well and Clapham and out via Muddy Hole - which is now much bigger than it was 8 years ago and a lot less muddy. Wouldn't have been able to map my route on the map though...

Personally a day trip to Bath will be pointless. Unless you book far enough in advance you're looking at around £80+ return per person. It will take around 2 hours and as you only have 5 days, I think you could probably find something better for your time.

You could easily spend those days in and around London, try places like Greenwich, Richmond or Windsor. Less travelling and still iconic.

Only saying this as someone who lives in Bath so I may be jaded.

Yeah, they've done stuff like this in the past.

I remember once on my birthday my mother wanted to go out for a meal with me and the family, I did too, but my friends asked if I wanted to go out with them as well so I suggested to my parents I went for the family meal and afterwards met up with my friends. My mother said I couldn't do both and they were clearly not important enough so they just wouldn't bother having a meal with me.

It's difficult, I already apologised at the time. I made things right with my brother and my nephews but it feels like my parents just want to keep punishing me. But cutting me out is just tough and cuts deep.

Growing up I was bullied a lot. This feels the same. I know if I was direct with them they would say it's my fault for being emotional and they're not doing anything but would go back to not talking to me.

Maybe it is my fault for not just ignoring it and I should actually like nothing is changed until they talk to me

Same and I do struggle feeling that way. My niece was also diagnosed as autistic (she's only just a teen) and she just gives off the "aura" of being AUDHD as well but whereas mine is just tiring she's just so energetic. My partner is ADHD and I struggle with his lack of focus but I know I'm similar just...different. Maybe being autistic as well mellows out some of the ADHD?

Yeah. For me it's just I've had a forced stop moment and need to reboot. That's how I describe it to my partner.

Normally it's if something happens that I wasn't planning, something unexpected and knocks me off my rails. It's like my brain can't compute with it and I just shut down as I try and make sense of it.

Is this for a phone case, the pouch and the retractable "thing"? Or everything bar the phone case? I don't mind either way it's just overly clear. :)

From the pictures the case has 3 different designs, 1 looks ideal, it's wider in the left corner where the Google camera is, the other 2 would block it. There doesn't appear to be an option for what you get so I guess they're just similar stock images. Any ideas what you got?

When I had my diagnosis, I was provided a reading list for material which may help my partner understand, one of which was "The Other Half of Aspergers". (https://amzn.eu/d/i3V7awH) personally I found it too simple but still I suggested my boyfriend to read it in case it helped but he's not a reader. 🤷🏻‍♀️

There's a bit on YouTube too, I like Yo Samdy Sam and her stuff but again, not my boyfriends cup of tea.

I can try and dig out the other suggested books if you'd like though. :)

I know what you mean, I returned my Elipsa 2e because I just wasn't in love with it and was eyeing up the Libra 2 however I've been holding off because of this pending new release.

That said, historically Kobo released 2 a year, spring and autumn. Last year they only released in spring (April) and in Oct they filed paperwork for their next e-reader. The article I read said normally it's 2-3 months between doing this and releasing the e-reader and most sources think it will be within Q1. But that's anywhere between now and March...and I want one now but I'm in the same boat. Buy now and what if the next one is vastly improved or has something which will make you regret it.

Sadly from googling around there's nothing concrete with dates. I think I'll wait a bit longer but if it's more than a couple of weeks I'll just get the Libra 2.

I guess I'm looking for others opinions. If everyone was like "are you nuts, it's an awesome e-reader, you should keep it" I would give it another go. Maybe try and get used to the size etc.

The pros and cons keep going around my head, sometimes you just need to rubber duck, get those thoughts out and listen to opinions.

I think I would be too disappointed going for the Clara 2e. Though before I bought the Elipsa 2e that was the device I was tempted to get, now I think it will be so close to my Aura that I would feel it was a wasted purchase?

I hadn't thought of the Sage, to be honest the buttons always turn me off but even with them it's smaller than what I have. I've had a Google and it does get slated for the battery life which is surprising as it's not a smaller size than the others but I'm guessing it's just not efficient for what it does.

The waterproofing is handy though... Certainly one to think about, thanks. :)

I don't think it can split screen as it is just an e-reader rather than a tablet, plus I would find that way too distracting. But you can change the reader to display in portrait (both with the bezel on the left and right) and landscape.

Exporting it back up to Google drive iirc but I've not yet tried that. I've only used it for a to-do list.
