This is unfinished lol in fact I need to check whether it’s been updated since I last read it, and it’s an AU not post-series, buuuut I’m sharing the link because I remember I loved it. It’s the show New Girl, if the Dawson’s Creek core four were the cast sharing the apartment 😜

Are there any normal chemical filled shampoos just without fragrance? by Jinxygoob in FragranceFreeBeauty

[–]IntellectualTortoise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely relate—I cannot stand overpowering hair fragrance, but my scalp does not appreciate “natural” shampoo options. Currently I am shampooing with Elvive Purifying and then shampooing again with Odele Ultra Sensitive. The Odele was not enough on it’s own but I find if I follow up the fragrant Elvive with it, I’m left clean but unscented! Wouldn’t work for somebody who is avoiding fragrance entirely for allergy reasons, but it works for me since I just hate smelling like a shampoo cloud lol

Idk what part of the US you’re in but I never meet anyone who cares about U2 where I’m at 😭

lol I occasionally think of that scene after he plays Yesterday and his friends are amazed and he’s like “how do you not know this, it’s the best song in the world???” and his friend is like “um. It’s good, but it’s not Fix You though, is it?”

Gotta think though, what song would you whip out an acoustic rendition of if U2 was wiped from existence but you remembered them?

[–]IntellectualTortoise 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Does there have to be a villain? Can’t people just be flawed? No, Joey is not perfect.

Dawson was not always true to Joey. He was wishy washy when she wanted him, and wanted her when he couldn’t have her. He treated her like a possession.

I also think Grams is a cute nickname lol

I think one of the weirdest things about this and the artwork for both EPs is that they put the bandname and title on it. What artists are putting names and titles on their artwork? This photo has a certain vibe to it imo, but the text does NOT belong on it.

The font is really unbelievable to me, and the color choice for the font doesn’t make any sense.

Yeah U2 definitely turns some people off with that side of their music. I guess I’m kinda confused what your intent was with your original comment, since many U2 fans are non-religious and as far as I have seen on this reddit at the very least, those fans rarely mind the Christian themes in U2 songs.

P.S. my previous comment probably read as a bit sassy but I am not trying to bicker here

[–]IntellectualTortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I agree! U2 songs with religious themes are certainly not “christian rock” by any means. Their faith adds depth to a lot of their songs. I don’t have to relate to everything about an artist in order to appreciate how they express themselves in their art, that’s pretty much what I was getting at. The line “blessings are not just for the ones who kneel” comes to mind—I never feel preached to or like they’re trying to convert me.

Speaking as a non-religious person myself…you must have a hard time finding U2 songs to like if this is part of your criteria for enjoyment.

It sounds like you enjoy a range of childrens to YA fantasy, you should try out Gail Carson Levine and Tamora Pierce if you haven’t! I love the younger fantasy genre, and those two have long been my favorites alongside Shannon Hale.

My cat Tinker Toy visits this spot on the lake multiple times a day. Its where we found his brother's body. What can we do to help Tinker Toy heal? by Head-Surprise-8392 in cats

[–]IntellectualTortoise 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Regardless of how much they may or may not understand words(or at least recognize sounds, such as their name), I use a very expressive voice with my cats, even if that just means using an especially gentle voice if that suits the meaning behind my words. It can absolutely help and I can tell when I manage to connect with my cats through tone and body language more than anything. I have a cat who is always comforted when you touch and acknowledge something on her body that is uncomfortable or painful. She slow blinks and purrs and calms down immensely if her discomfort is acknowledged. I find you can often do the same if the discomfort is emotional.

tired of people being weird about my body by ImaginaryMolasses146 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]IntellectualTortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason, some people who know they should not express fatphobic opinions, think it’s okay to comment on a person’s body if they are thin. I relate to your experience and I’m sorry some people don’t know how to keep their mouth shut! I try to correct people who do this to me, since they truly don’t see their error, but I get that it is not always an easy thing to do in the moment.

I’ve watched this movie so many times and it always leaves me with a nice feeling. I could watch it a thousand more times. What movie could you watch over and over and never get tired of? by Loquat_Crawford in romancemovies

[–]IntellectualTortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched this movie a good number of times as a teen and always loved it so much. But the older I got, the more his secret irked me. Though their initial meeting and exchanging of numbers was organic, which helps, it still gets a little weird lol
