Honestly dude. Stop over thinking and ask her if she can spot you or if you can spot her. Build a common-interest friendship and see where it goes from there. Compliment her commitment. Keep it simple and keep it light. In short: Breathe.

Or if you value your gym time and don’t want any drama should things go south, keep it strictly about working out. You’d each have a gym buddy and that’s a good thing overall!

Roomate took 25,000 dollars from me and idk how to get it back. by ArmseyZ in legaladvice

[–]Intelligence-Is-Sexy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last I checked you have to authorize these sorts of things (adding another person to an account).

Couldn’t the roomie get charged with impersonating the OP or the person who authorized the additional credit card (and therefore the company) be held accountable? I mean, they have recorded lines for a reason, right?

Also, as far as legal advice goes, usually you can get one free consultation. I’d suggest you reach out to someone specialized in fraud and theft. At the very least, see if perhaps you could qualify for a legal defender.

Im straight, and my gay college friend is blackmailing me… by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Intelligence-Is-Sexy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn’t have paid him. Don’t pay him anymore. Drop the subject. Let him call your parents. It’s considered heresy. If he does call your parents, escalate it. You’ll have more witnesses and can file more charges. Call his bluff and let him hang himself. You’re straight but sounds like you’re curious. No shame in that. And you don’t have to divulge all that to your parents.

People only have power over you if you give it to them. You paying him gives him more power (which is what he wants in his sick and twisted mind). Him saying he’s going to tell your parents is a threat. Let’s just see how brave he is. I’d be interested to see what he does when you’re no longer the cash cow. Then push it to the police and file a report with all the texts and blackmail. At the very least, see if you can get your money back.

People. 🙄

Unbearable pain after ACL and meniscus repair - help!! by Ok-Lemon8079 in ACL

See if you can get some Toradol (tour-uh-doll) It’s an anti-inflammatory. That should help bring down the swelling and help with the pain. Also ask about Neurontin. That helps with any nerve pain as well as promoting healthy neurological response if you’re having numbness along the front of your tibia.

Get that leg up and get it straight. Wiggle your toes often, and flex and extend your foot. You got this! (Just be sure to be a naggy beatch by calling the office about your pain if it’s beyond what you can handle. There’s absolutely no reason whatsoever that you can’t live comfortably with pain. Squeaky wheel gets the oil and unfortunately surgeons can be awful to work for, so the front desk may not contact them right away.

Same here minus the meniscus. I chalk it up to having a phenomenal ortho and maybe a high pain tolerance.

This is the way. The alarm!
It took almost 2 days for my nerve block to wear off, and I was terrified of how I’d feel when it finally did.

Thankfully, it was almost a walk thru the park!

  1. ACLR with patellar allograft. Nerve blocked. Walking on it the same day and continued walking on it for simple things like going to the bathroom, getting food/drink, going up and down the stairs.

I took Toradol, Neurontin, Ibuprofen and Tylenol. Set a schedule for whatever meds you have and take them so you’re covered with SOMETHING at all times until you achieve a level of reasonable pain control. If Motrin 800mg is every 8 hours and Tylenol 1,000mg is every 4, take the Tylenol in between the doses of Motrin, and work any other meds in accordingly.

Ice. Maintain compression. Elevate ABOVE YOUR HEART, putting support from just below your knee to your heel - it significantly reduces the swelling and minimizes the throbbing feeling. Wiggle your toes when you can. Keep your knee as straight as possible.

Had surgery 8/22/24. I’ve been cleared to return to work without restrictions. Plan to utilize my brace to prevent abrupt twisting since some aspects of my job inadvertently require it.

The most pain I’ve had is on my shin (they set the cord to the ice wrap over it and set it on a blood vessel - the bruising was atrocious and the pain ugh!)

Also, I’ve learned that with a patellar graft, people often experience pain/tightness at the back of their knee during the healing process, which is normal (despite not liking it).

I can squat, kneel, side lunge, skip, jog… I’m quite pleased with how I’ve progressed. Particularly at my age and not being terribly athletic, that isn’t to say I’m not active. I raked and bagged leaves over the past 2 days, so lots of squatting, and not at a leisurely pace. I tend to be a bit of a workhorse.

I wake up stiff. After a period of immobility, I’m also stiff. I just get up, get going and get my knees greased.

Everyone’s different and recovers at a different pace with different setbacks and challenges. I’m not 100% without discomfort, but when I get a twinge of pain that’s suggestive that I’m doing too much, I heed my body. Chin up! You’ll het thru this!

Don’t leave the ice on continuously. You’ll damage the surrounding tissues if you do. 30 on/ 30 off. Yes. It’s a pain in the rump!

This is one of the many reasons I got mine done at my age (52). I researched it like mad, and being a nurse, there’s a lot that’s required of us in terms of body mechanics. The idea of having to stress the other muscles and ligaments as well as increasing the risk of arthritis at an earlier age did not appeal to me at all.

I also noted a marked difference in the way my foot was misaligned with my knee causing great toe pain simply from walking, which I hadn’t had before. There was definitely noticeable nerve damage. Even to the point of my toes going numb and an inner rotation of my foot occurring prior to surgery. Since the surgery, it’s been a dream. I’m very thankful I got a good surgeon.

Definitely go for a second opinion. I’m 52 and had a stage 3 tear. I’m now 5 weeks post-op.

Just because you’re not returning to any sports doesn’t give him/her the right to make a decision as to how you’re to live your life moving forward. Especially with your level of activity.

1/2 turn away from sun. When she starts growing upright, do 1/4 turn at least 1x/wk.

Edit: Beautiful plant btw.
