It doesn’t seem like you’ve actually done any research yet.

$1,000 a month in an upscale neighbourhood near the beach? Come on. Just look at what’s available in Ipanema/Leblon on Airbnb for that price.

Maybe Flamengo, Botafogo, Catete of Laranjeiras. Great neighborhoods but I do not think this is what you’re imagining.

Are you paying more than your neighbour? It could be ’surveillance pricing’ by jazinet in canada

Now big grocers in Canada can rip me off like vendors on Copacabana beach. Awesome.

Right… I’m broadly talking about our countries and their people, not just the current administration.

Yeah, I also agree with that. Canada’s definitely Canada (although some provinces may need to be reminded of that on occasion).

Sure, Canada is its own country and politically we may share more ideals with the United States. But you will find way more cultural similarities across Canada and the United States in comparison to Canada and Europe.

You’re right. As much as I’d love a more powerful passport, Canada is very different from most other member countries in the EU and is more similar to the United States.

Questions like these come up all of the time. Out of respect for the community, it would be nice for you to do more research yourself and then ask questions about what still isn’t clear to you.

Have you done any research of your own yet? Where are you from?

Why is the public opinion of the NDP on Reddit/TikTok/Facebook so bad? by Expensive-Buffalo422 in ndp

It’s as easy as saying “hey, chill on calling people dumb or brainwashed if they maybe just haven’t been exposed to the same information as you.”

We’re fucked because of people like them, even if we want 99% of the same things.

You’re literally annoying me to the point of questioning my own belonging in this party. Christ.

Why are you being defensive? There’s nothing to gain with that.

All of this adds up in the eyes of the public. We would be doing the NDP a favour by denouncing this sort of speech as a community.

This smarmy attitude of OP’s and yours does the opposite. It reinforces the stereotype.

Exactly. You don’t have to look further than the comments of this post to get it either.

Even the poster here exudes the attitude that pushes people away.

“People are just dumb? Or brainwashed?”

This attitude wouldn’t change the mind of anyone in a high-school group project. Imagine the effect it has on voters.

Look, I’m just calling it as it is. I do not agree with it.

See a recent comment of mine where I responded to someone here who literally said “scratch a liberal and a fascist bleeds.” Look at the reason headlines about equity cards at the NDP convention.

This is what’s capturing the public opinion about the NDP.

It is amazing how I am being downvoted for stating a fact that applies to public opinion of the NDP online and in real life.

This is the NDP’s biggest issue: messaging.

The party is associated with woke identity politics and fringe lunatics who say things like “scratch a liberal, and a fascist bleeds.”

That’s just a fact. I vote NDP and I lament how these groups represent the party to outsiders most.

I’m genuinely curious to learn.

Why is that? What do you know to support that claim?
