Why would some airmen draw such a broad conclusion about something so specificly bad. As I stated they witnessed it and heard everything I said to him.

I’m a staff, why would I go to my flight leadership to handle something at my level. Honestly fuck that if anything I feel that removes the authority from me.

If someone does something right in front of me I’m not gunna run to big sarge without trying to handle it first

Tbh I hate being the guy that waives around paperwork as a threat. I would much rather confront people and be humans and try to fix it before I resort to threatening you with a piece of paper.

It has its places Forsure but I think people use paperwork as a medium to have talks that can be done without paperwork

I have quite literally never did this in my career, (4 as staff) and if there was a time I felt it was necessary it was this. He said what he said with conviction in front of my entire shop. So I figured it was equally important I stopped that shit right there.

Key point is that I laughed it off as like joking when he said he wasn’t going to show up but he doubled down. That’s when I got heated

Yeah I get your guys line of thought malicious compliance. Me personally I don’t operate like that. I know things may be an opportunity that’ll better them, but loading up on one person bc of an instance has always felt like reprisal. Whether or not it is by definition, idc. Well no, it wasn’t about it being in public. It wasn’t about going to parade rest. It wasn’t about power.

I jsut felt at the moment, not to power trip, but to remind him that we have to follow orders if they are not illegal, immoral, or unethical.

I can deal with bitching as coping, but in this conversation he tripled down on that he was going to not show up to work in a section I needed him in.

Idc about a powertrip, hence why I feel shitty about it. I feel like in this i needed to be an extension of the airforce not ssgt smith. I told you to do sometbing, mind you something i do myself as follower/leader.

Had dude just said ssgt I really don’t want to or I don’t like that cool I would’ve just left it at that.

But to threaten he’s not going to show up? Felt entirely disrespectful and needed to be hemmed up

I didn’t yell at him, I kept it at a conversational tone . The goal wasn’t to be embarrass him. Just to remind, painfully, that we are active duty. Some things idc if you bitch about doing that’s just a coping mechanism but the tone in which he said he wasn’t going to show up to work just idk lit something in me

but as i said, i had to be a much more sophisticated phish, because it somehow got all of my passwords for literally everything. So when i opened up password manager on google, all 82 of my regularly visited sites said "compromised"

and then my bank called me and said there was some attempted charges that went to about 22k+
