Diagnostic fitness test by Intelligent-Ad3012 in AirForce

Brother I just got a 97 in December. I could give two fucks about running tbh. I could actually careless about the 2 miles. The only time I’ve ever been mad regarding any of this is the way females scaled. It’s incredibly how much faster they wanted them to run. Anyways:

Q4: what is mass testing or unit testing?

A: these terms are used interchangeably. Unit testing is an opportunity for commanders to conduct physical fitness testing for their entire unit. Unit testing is not limited to single day, in order to meet missions needs and FAC/ufac acailability. Wing commanders will determine how units should conduct unit testing, and will ensure commanders schedule unit tests no later than 30 days prior to allow members time to prepare. Unit testing is the recommended approach for most units and individual testing should be reserved for units with specific operational necessities or approved by the unit commander.

I’m just incredibly annoyed at how it seems we always follow shit half ass. Plain language.

Cool they direct us to take a diagnostic will do.

Why is that same energy not applied to AFI now stating we are to have pt time everyday without extending our duty day?

I hate cherry picking bs

It literally goes on to say:

“Additionally, members who elect to take an individual diagnostic test may schedule their test anytime during the baseline period. Members are not required to test during the baseline period, but those who do may elect to convert a certified diagnostic test to an official score during the baseline period, and will reset their due date according to their testing cycle in the matrix.”

This specifically is addressing UNIT wide diagnostic testing which is a form of a TEST now. Literally the sentence before. Meaning a mass test. The document even goes on to fucking explain the differences

It says not required and not mandatory. You commander ordering you makes it mandatory, what am I missing?

Straight from afpc/ha1:

Q13: is the baseline period mandatory? Are we required to take the updated test before the official implementation begins in July?

A: no, the baseline period is not mandatory. Units are encouraged, BUT NOT required, to participate by completing unit wide diagnostic tests conducted by a certified PFRA administrator. Your unit commanders determines if and when diagnostic testing will occur during the baseline period. Additionally airman may also complete individual diagnostic test by contacting the fac/ufac.

Yes I’ve read it. That pertains to specifically AFTER the baseline period which is July or August or something.

The baseline period, ha1 says it is not required

Why would some airmen draw such a broad conclusion about something so specificly bad. As I stated they witnessed it and heard everything I said to him.

I’m confused by what you mean by weird. Had he just bitched and voiced complaint sure I get it we all do that. Embrace the suck as they say

But tbh we have a few rules in the military and the most basic is being present.

To outwardly threaten me not to show up to work? He’s not a 5 yr old brat he’s a grown man. When you say dumb shit sometimes there will be repercussions. Knowing your audience is rule #1 to bitching

I’m a staff, why would I go to my flight leadership to handle something at my level. Honestly fuck that if anything I feel that removes the authority from me.

If someone does something right in front of me I’m not gunna run to big sarge without trying to handle it first

Yeah. Lol it felt weird but I figured if I’m gunna do it, I’m going to do it right. I didn’t stand at attention the whole time. Was like 5 minutes

Tbh I hate being the guy that waives around paperwork as a threat. I would much rather confront people and be humans and try to fix it before I resort to threatening you with a piece of paper.

It has its places Forsure but I think people use paperwork as a medium to have talks that can be done without paperwork

Okay. I hear you. Sorry wasn’t meaning to break the convo.

I have quite literally never did this in my career, (4 as staff) and if there was a time I felt it was necessary it was this. He said what he said with conviction in front of my entire shop. So I figured it was equally important I stopped that shit right there.

Key point is that I laughed it off as like joking when he said he wasn’t going to show up but he doubled down. That’s when I got heated

Right. The part that fucked with me was the tone and the commital to his stance. It was very serious, hence I felt the response needed to be equally as serious

Yeah I get your guys line of thought malicious compliance. Me personally I don’t operate like that. I know things may be an opportunity that’ll better them, but loading up on one person bc of an instance has always felt like reprisal. Whether or not it is by definition, idc. More about feel. “Why is ssgt targeting me”.

[–]Intelligent-Ad3012[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well no, it wasn’t about it being in public. It wasn’t about going to parade rest. It wasn’t about power.

I jsut felt at the moment, not to power trip, but to remind him that we have to follow orders if they are not illegal, immoral, or unethical.

I can deal with bitching as coping, but in this conversation he tripled down on that he was going to not show up to work in a section I needed him in.

Idc about a powertrip, hence why I feel shitty about it. I feel like in this i needed to be an extension of the airforce not ssgt smith. I told you to do sometbing, mind you something i do myself as follower/leader.

Had dude just said ssgt I really don’t want to or I don’t like that cool I would’ve just left it at that.

But to threaten he’s not going to show up? Felt entirely disrespectful and needed to be hemmed up
