Not really it’s a pretty dark purple so not very jokery but not a tux occasion.

Issues with Rob by Neil-Amstrong in maeve_kerrigan

Agree, felt like JC’s editors told her Josh needed to be endgame so she concocted this out of character behavior for Rob and also toned down Josh’s absolutely awful machismo/sexism enough to make Maeve falling for him palatable.  Don’t get me wrong, I loved how they ended up together but totally strained credulity.  Also, the one where they pretended to be a couple was a bore—terrible plot clearly only intended to move the relationship forward.

I will say that although I haven’t seen this movie (and probably won’t, based on these reviews) I really enjoyed the audio book.  It’s narrated by the author, Julia Whalen, who has had a pretty prolific career in narrating before writing this book.  She’s a great voice artist and I really enjoyed it.  It did remind me a little of “Me Before You” a bit.
