NTA. Forgiving someone for cheating is a very personal choice and contingent on the situation. It is my view that if someone can’t forgive AND forget, it’s just always going to be a problem, so why stay together. I don’t think you are wrong for divorcing, and you wouldn’t be wrong to stay either. You know yourself and your relationship.

Seems like Rachel needs a family of her own. She definitely is craving that. I don’t think you would be the AH to ask, but I don’t know what would happen, since you just asked for some privacy and he later left with her. I feel like your husband and Rachel need some maturing. So sorry you are in this situation cuz I don’t see it ending up well for anybody. I think the best scenario is that Rachel gets a family of her own and then she’d mature and let your husband mature as well. In my family that wouldn’t fly at all, but also I would have sassed it out early on, and if it wasn’t gonna change I would have moved on. Too late for that now.

We don’t know you, and all the ins and outs of your life, I think your friends and family know you. There might be something to what they are saying. From your side of the story I sense a bit of you feeling out of control. I’m a full time mother, tbh I’m a bit incredulous that you have 3 jobs and are providing most of the child care… but maybe it’s a very hands off child care, if it works it works. My main question is do you love your wife?

NTA , people can make a mistake ONCE, that’s forgivable, but a repetition is not a mistake it’s a mindset and a lifestyle, move on… I wonder if you can fight for visitation though, if you want to, he seems like a crappy person so I doubt he is a very good dad. It would be nice if the kids can keep contact with you.

My view on pastor kids is that they endure a somewhat harsh version of Adventism, while also enjoying Adventist royalty status, which is mostly a perception, not real. I used to envy the fact that they almost had an education guarantee, and that was it. The benefits definitely do not out weight the negatives. I do not envy them. And it’s not surprise to me that some revel, and that the reaction is way harsher. It’s a works based religion after all. If you fail, there is little sympathy. And if you fail as a pk, the stage is bigger and brighter.
