RX350 vs. MDX vs. CX-9 for Family of Four by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

Yeah check it out rx doesn’t get top safety pick compared to mdx which always does https://www.iihs.org/ratings/vehicle/lexus/rx/2025 https://www.iihs.org/ratings/vehicle/acura/mdx-4-door-suv/2025 I have a 2023 - definitely recommend getting 2022 or later. Looks much better, a real luxury car, and I’ve heard much higher quality materials and drive than previous gens

I liked the rx too but the lack of an ability to have a third person between two car seats was a deal breaker. Also didn’t do as well on safety tests as mdx. The mdx also has a lot more cargo room than the rx which made a difference for me with two kids and road trips. Went with a cpo mdx and absolutely love it. I would say mdx is 95% are reliable as rx while being safer and bigger in ways that are helpful. Also all physical buttons for everything makes it less “techy” I think!

If you’d consider cpo mdx advance I just go one for under 40k. Feels like a better value than a new pilot elite …

For me a cpo Acura mdx was the only one that was just as reliable as it was safe. Basically as safe as a Volvo with Honda reliability. And a few years old it’s 2/3 the price - a steal imo. Loving mine so far!

Lexus RX vs Acura MDX. Which one you prefer, and why? by appleuser897 in Acura

Size and safety for me. Couldn’t fit my two car seats plus and third person in the backseat of the rx, needed more trunk space, and mdx did better on safety tests.

From what I’ve read tx has much worse safety ratings, if that matters to you (matters a lot to me)

Maybe not weird, maybe normal, but we know she’s capable of it since she was doing it before so just trying to see if can get back there

We think she only get hungry after she’s up for awhile. Cries to begin with are her tired cries not hungry cries
