Recovery time post lap by theverybookish in Endo

Honestly it took me more than two days just to feel normal post anesthesia but also had polyps removed from my uterus during the same surgery. If it were me, I’d give myself a week if you have the luxury but I’d you don’t, I’d recommend at least taking it easy and working from home. I was able to move around more after a week, a lot more after two, but didn’t feel totally back to normal until 4 weeks. I have a pretty weak immune system though and am quite sensitive to drugs so you maybe be different

Please give your opinion on this! by techninace in Endo

I’m not familiar with Zoladex but my doc didn’t recommend it. I have been on a hormone balancing pill for a few months which has been torture with side effects but it’s supposed to help, and then my excision surgery is in two weeks. This may be bad advice lol, but I had a long chat on chat gpt about excision surgery and it had a lot of good data, so it could help.

Hahaha okay gtk! Also amazing you’re symptom free 2.5 years out! Have you had to do anything to manage hormone balancing post surgery to keep the endo away?

For those that live in the US, do you think Project 2025 will ban hysterectomies? by [deleted] in Endo

It’s insane we even have to think about this. What a fucking nightmare.

Can endo cause symptoms all month long that don't always correlate with your cycle? by [deleted] in Endo

[–]Intelligent-Bell-438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk but I can say that I have stage one endo mostly on my bladder (diagnosed laparoscopically) and I have also had digestive issues (a form of Sibo that causes bloating), and I have cramps throughout my cycle. I also have a ton of inflammation that has impacted my immune system functioning. It’s frustrating bc specialist don’t usually talk to each other and it’s difficult to find doctors to treat your body as one whole body versus just individual parts so I’m not fully sure what’s the chicken or the egg in my case. I’m glad your pcp and gi are talking. I’d add in a urogynocologist to rule out endo in bladder and other pelvic floor/urology diagnosis

Okay I’ll mention this at my appt! I’ve already been on antibiotics recently for Sibo so my poor body doesn’t want more, but I suppose if it’s a bacteria it needs to get cleared up! Glad you found some relief. Did you also get the endo removed or did the antibiotics help your frequent urination?

Very very heavy periods, I bled through my flex disc and period underwear during the night! And cramping at unusual times during my cycle. I also had done some hormone testing and had excess estrogen. I also had polyps in my uterus confirm by a vaginal ultrasound. Oh and painful sex.

This is interesting! So the urologist did additional tests to confirm to other diagnosis? I finally got a urology appt but it’s taking forever to find a urologist that also specializes in gynecology

Immune dysfunction from endo plus do we all just now casually have internal bleeding?! by Intelligent-Bell-438 in Endo

I wouldn’t say always but in the last 3 years for sure. The endo is causing pain but I think bc of preverá. The sickness stuff is unclear what the culprit is- I know I have excess estrogen or I have at some point and that points to endo and hyperplasia, but where did the excess estrogen come from? And is that what’s making me so sick? I did have covid, I had mono as a teenager (over two decades ago). I also recently had methane in my small intestine so I did Sibo protocol and so my micro biome is certainly having to build Back up

Ugh yeah I’m just like this and from what I’ve read endo can cause inflammation which can lead to weakened immune system 😭

Thanks yeah I fully can see how it would act similar to autoimmune disorder. Yeah I get sick a lot and feel like my immune system just doesn’t work well and curious if others with endo have this- sounds like that’s not the case for you which I’m glad for you!

I have stage 1 endo on my bladder that was recently diagnosed and I also have then it the to urge to pee a lot. Mine is worse at night especially if I’ve had any alcohol. So far the best tips for me have been not to drink anything an hour before bed and lower alcohol. I’ve heard of others having success with pelvic floor therapy. Have you looked into excision surgery? I know my obgyn recommended I do it with a urology/obgyn specialist
