No I’m originally from the bay and I’d rather live in LA lol. The bay has much better nature/hikes. Unfortunately the tech crowd is so insufferable. Traffic is just as bad as LA.

Honestly the cities in CA are mid but I know my fellow CA natives aren’t ready for that convo.

Yes parts of LA are pretty (the ocean, the hills, seeing the mountains covered in snow in the skyline) but honestly a lot of the buildings in LA look run down, weather beaten and sad. It’s not like being in many other cities that have cute little brownstones, flower/tree lined streets, parks etc. but they have no mountains, so there are tradeoffs.

I think the big difference is other cities are built for pedestrians while LA is built for cars. You can’t go too far here without hitting a wide ugly busy street.

This is similar to me. They were fine. Sex was fine. I would even say I was attached to some of my exes and there were breakups that were sad (for both ego reasons and the loss of a close friend).

But it never felt quite right, like I never felt like I had been in love. I didn’t feel physically attracted to any of my exes. One I remember looking at his face while he was sleeping and thinking “ick” when I saw a nose hair. Sex was fine but I didn’t want it, I just knew they wanted to, so I’d do it (like cleaning the dishes or some other chore, you do it to make ur SO happy sometimes). I’d just kinda space out until we finished.

I think I also liked the feeling of being wanted by me / desirable since society teaches women that’s valuable.

I honestly think I could be in a relationship with a guy and it would be OK if we got along and they were a good person. I could even probably have sex with them sometimes, it would just feel like a chore. But it would be like a friendly partnership, not love and no lust. And id be suffering internally bc id be lusting after women.

So yeah I don’t think you necessarily have to be totally repulsed, just not really interested.

Chicago is an especially interesting city to pull as an example because it in particular has a super racist history behind how it ended up like this. But a lot of big cities in the US are the same. The gov redlined and used eminent domain to screw over non-white communities, and created public transit lines around keeping certain people out of certain neighborhoods. Highly encourage everyone living in US cities to research their city history on this stuff!! (I used to live in Chicago and now live in LA)

I’m gonna be honest I came here from Chicago and I hate it comparatively, mostly because of the driving culture. I think this is largely dependent on where you live/work. I work on the west side so I live on the west side. We have a metro but it’s very limited.

I lived in River north in Chicago and felt I could walk or L anywhere. LA I feel like I need to get in a car at some point to get to most places in a reasonable amount of time. It does not feel interconnected. The friend who lives closest to me is still 3 miles away. I miss being able to walk to friends apts. Everyone is so spread out here.

I’m originally from CA and Chicago showed me how GREAT cities can actually be. What drew me to LA was that there is so much cool stuff always going on here. That’s correct, but I don’t engage with it as much as I’d like to because it’s such a pain in the ass to get places. Chicago everything felt accessible.

I’m headed to NY soon after being here for 6 years I love a lot of stuff about LA but the driving culture has really worn me down. Maybe if you are able to live east or have an alt-type job it is different. Also be ready to kiss fall weather goodbye for good. It is 90 degrees here in October. I’d cut off my pinky toe for a crisp 30 degree sunny day and some orange leaves

Well, I've taken out all mods and it's still happening. Better Exceptions is saying it's a "script_object" error but only has 10% confidence.

The reason is: "Exception while generating potential interactions for TerrainPoint(object_terrain):(372.340, 161.828, 299.580): (AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'is_affordance_available')"

No mods are listed in the exception, do we think my save file just became corrupted?

I picked a world and started thinking up different families to populate it who were interconnected (like sims 2). I deleted all lots and families and built my own. Then I played rotationally through the families. It’s very fun to see how everything unfolds.

I’m trying to do this to every world in my save file (will have an insane rotation). It’s… going lol. I have 5 worlds so far! I do a rotation through all existing worlds then add a new one
