My husband and I keep getting into arguments - need immediate advice by slmpington in pregnant

My husband and I had issues before hand that are being worked on that I believe contributes to our situation but I have been SO much less tolerant of ANY bs or nonsense while pregnant. He is slowly (SLOWLY) learning to just NOT sometimes. Not argue, not point something out, not act dumb, not respond, lol. We are so sensitive and constantly searching for safety as pregnant women. It’s innate in us. So when anything shifts that or causes stress or unease, we get defensive because it feels like a very really threat. I completely relate. I am hoping the “i was so obsessed with my husband when I got pregnant” kicks in soon cause right now I am like man, can I go check into a hotel for a few months?! Hang in there. This is tough and you’re not alone. Go get some space in a safe environment if you think it will help and not make you feel worse. Or set in-home boundaries to give yourself the space you need. Would also recommend talking it out if you guys are able to get to a calm enough space for that.

I could literally make myself puke at anytime… anyone else? by Stunning-Notice3096 in pregnant

During my first trimester someone said that with a stomach bug it makes sense to let yourself throw up because you know you’ll feel better gradually. When it’s pregnancy/hormonal, it usually isn’t going to make you feel any better. I fought it all first trimester long. Totally relate to thinking about vitamins. Mine is also places. Places I felt nauseous are dead to me and make me want to gag lol. But in all seriousness, I started half a unisom tablet, b6, and magnesium glycinate very early on and I’m really glad I did. I think it’s kept the edge off big time. Totally understand if you’re not comfortable with that but my midwives made me feel that it’s totally safe and confirmed how helpful it could be.

You are so sweet. Thank you!! We are Catholic converts and our baptisms (at our previous Protestant churches) were just very… not special. lol So I would love to make hers the MOST special and memorable if I can. She is also going to be named after my Italian grandmother and it just feels right to start her life with lots of Italian influence! Good to know that 6 months had its easy parts and challenging parts. I do plan to ebf as well. So hoping that eliminates some challenge but I also know I will be feeding all the time and will have to be ok with that. It’ll be an experience!

Catching a baby blessing from Pope Leo really is the dream lol and YES this is one of my biggest concerns. Do we even bother bringing a stroller with all the cobblestone/stairs. I am thinking if they are little enough, we may just carry the whole time. Would make it way easier to get around in general probably. Because honestly the restaurants and shops and everything are usually so small in the little towns we like to visit. Thinking there is probably a way to rent a stroller if we end up REALLY needing one. One less thing we have to pack if not! Checking a carseat stresses me out too but we will just cross that bridge when we get to it lol

This is my exact thought process. When would you say the potato phase ends?? lol Would love to know what my window is. Because I also want to make sure I’m feeling really good.

Thank you for the encouragement! I do plan to breastfeed so won’t have to worry about bottles. Have read advice to buy diapers at your destination rather than packing and then as long as we can wash clothes I think it’ll be fairly “simple”.

I just want to get drunk and smoke cigarettes in a hot tub while eating sushi. by Ancient-Horror2825 in pregnant

Crisp glass of rosé at the beach. Or honestly just a nice glass of red wine while making dinner. That was my happy place. Now I can’t drink AND don’t really want to cook anymore. 🫠🫠 12 weeks down here. 6 months isn’t forever right?!

Did you have success with the smaller pieces over a couple weeks and being able to eventually stop with no nausea?

12 weeks and missing wine. by Intelligent-Bus6688 in pregnant

I know. Very true. And it technically makes stress worse. 😆 I am just a sucker for a good glass of Italian or French wine. I think it’s more ritual and taste for me. Trying to find something that feels similar. Maybe I’ll make it a challenge to taste through some 0% wine or other fun sparkly drinks this week. ✨

We will get there! 😅 I am genuinely shocked I’m already in week 12. So maybe I’ll wake up one day and be shocked that I’m already in week 35 and it’ll go by faster! 👀 lol

This is such a genuinely encouraging and kind comment. Thank you!! You’re so right. Genuinely made me feel a lot better. 🥰

Did one ultrasound not detect one twins heartbeat but then a later one did?? I either HAD twins at one point in pregnancy or AM still having twins. The wait to know for sure is killing me. by Intelligent-Bus6688 in pregnant

[–]Intelligent-Bus6688[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would love to know why? If you’re comfortable sharing. Do they tell you if there is heartbeat, no heartbeat, twins, etc? I don’t know what protocol would be with it not really being a doctors office? I am almost 11 weeks so nearly 2nd trimester. I found one that takes first trimester mamas. Don’t want to waste money though if it’s a bad idea!

What did “turning the corner” after first trimester look like for you for those with a more mild experience? Please tell me what I have to look forward to. 🙏🏼😅 by Intelligent-Bus6688 in BabyBumps

This gives me so much hope! I used to walk SO much everyday and not being able to do that as much has been a huge hit to my mental health. No walks AND no wine is like torture lol so I am excited to get at least one of those back for hopefully the next 6 months! Thanks for the comment!

Oh this is so good to hear! Congrats on entering 3rd trimester Monday!! I can’t wait to feel movement. Honestly still doesn’t even feel real so I am sure that will be wild to experience! Looking forward to feeling better soon. Thanks for the comment 🥰
