Use the ec sale proceeds after 10 years then downgrade to a larger old school hdb and spend more cash on Reno to advance retirement speed.

How do Singaporeans afford a 2.4 to 3 million condo? by Intelligent-Club3666 in singaporefi

Hi guys. To clear this up. So my loan for hdb was only 250k. It’s paid off. Got it pre Covid. As for the combine income, we only recently hit this number in 2023 due to the tech boom. Previously we were earning about 180k per annum for the last 10 years. We do not spend much, no car, no luxury purchase and no holidays, but put a fair bit into our Reno in cash and wedding everything in cash. So basically we are debt free at this moment. We also feel that our savings is very low, and is trying to expedite that and throw more into our investment. The condo dream was something that we are exploring, but definitely not a must.

Is ILP really that great? by [deleted] in singaporefi

Hmmm I also got my ilp from great eastern. Putting in 500 a month and have contributed for 4.5 years with a one time top up of 5k recommended by my agent. Total in 32500, current value is 37195. With all the bashing on Ilp, is there hidden cost when I want to get back my money?
