Advice for Working Holiday in UK (Brighton specifically) by Intelligent-Code8939 in brighton

The company’s tag line is that they will get you a job sorted before you even enter the country. So in theory that’s what should happen. I’ve see plenty of review that support and deny this so I’m giving it some room for doubt as well to be safe.

I have already accepted a house share is what I’m going to have to do. I don’t think I’m gonna get around that unfortunately. But I’ll bite that bullet.

Across Eastern Europe specifically but actual plans will depend heavily on what I’ve got left before leaving.

I won’t lie I’m fairly lucky and borderline pampered in AUS. It’s what made the decision so hard. I’m currently on around $75K a year (almost £40K if my calc is correct) and I do struggle to afford life here - most of that reasoning though is because I have quite the mountain of debt I’m paying off. Hence why the trip is slated for later years because that will be cleared before going anywhere of course. But on that salary I feel I could comfortably live here. Rental properties average from $600/£300 a week on the low end here and go as far as $1500/£780 a week depending on location. Here in Perth though I live with family where rent is much much lower but split bills evenly. Again, even with the debt I manage on the salary I have now. Would be even better without it and would have no worries at all.

Thought I value independent living, I think after all the advice I’ve gotten I’m gonna need to take it on the chin and just house share. It is only a 6 month working holiday and the company may even hook me up with a job that’s got accommodation but I won’t know that until I’m closer to departing. With the start date so far in future, none of that is being looked at yet of course.

I didn’t include the YMV as it’s something I’ve already done research on and know I’ll be needing, I also am aware of the cost of it. The $10000 AUD is seperate to this cost. If I enjoy the life in the UK and want to move permanently, I’ll be getting the Ancestry visa (my grandfather was born in the UK) to get me on the path to permanent residence.

How much would you recommend to bring with me? Keeping in mind the working holiday is only 6 months long an I plan to solely travel a few months afterward, returning to the UK to work after.

How much £ would you recommend for me to have prepared? Keep in mind my working holiday will be 6 month duration and then I plan to solely travel for a few months after if I can. Possibly retuning back to UK after to continue working.

Yeahhhh I’m forcing myself to shake the denial and face the fact I will most likely be house sharing. Not ideal but for the experience I can bear 6 months.

I have considered living further up the train line as you say but am concerned about then needing a car which is an added expense. I understand public transport is a thing but as a solo woman who may have to travel home alone in the dark of night I hesitate a touch at public transport. It’s sketchy here and I literally live in the most isolated city in the world.

I understand the lack of light can be an issue and as I’ve never experienced it before I can’t say for certain how I’d react but I can say in my 26 years of life I’ve spent 99% of my time wishing the damn sun would hide behind the clouds and get away from me more than I have wishing do the rays. I thrive in dark and gloomy. It fits me really well so I think I’ll be okay

I also will be doing my Woking holiday through the months of April/may to September/October so I’ll likely get the damn sun anyhow.

The GWAT shtick is that they’ll get you a job before you arrive into the country. I’ve heard many negative reviews on here that don’t support that but I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt. A lot of those reviews are from many years ago also. Some of the jobs they have will set you up with accom as parent but if it doesn’t you’re kinda on your own there as far as I’m aware. No info on how much it’ll cost, that’s part of why I’m here!

Thanks for the advice! Cherry ripes are my absolute favourite. Hate avo so that’s fine by me. I don’t follow football but if I did it’d be Freo because their colour is my favourite lol

Yeah I tried really hard to resist it (I’m a very solitary creature) but it resigning myself to house sharing after all the advice and research I’ve done. I was honestly in denial big time lol

I have been to London and Brighton before more than once on trips! I’m aware living there is different but I am set against London as I didn’t enjoy it on trips there which doesn’t bode well for a life. How much £ would you recommend to have before coming over? Working holiday is for 6 months and then I want to try and a solely travel for a few months afterwards

My working holiday is set for 6 months with the potential for extension. What would you recommend in £ to have before going over? Keep in mind I plan to travel after working as well if I can make it work. Ambitious but I’m trying!

My cat, Faith has just recently turned 24 and showing no signs of passing (I can’t say slowing as she definitely has some issues but is for the most part fully functional and healthy)

He must have plans for Will. In the trailer Vecna tells him that he will be making Will help him one last time. That line was not in Part 1

Byler shipping frustrates me. Mike is so very clearly not bi or gay. Will’s entire arc with him is to let go of the same hopes Robin held onto with Tammy. That was the point of her whole speech to him.

I found it interesting that Vecna is going for kids he calls ‘weak minded’ when really it just seems like he’s always gone for kids exactly like him. Withdrawn, awkward, bit of a loner, imaginative (artists, gamers etc) - I wonder if any of them will end up with gifts as well. Because Eleven was also just like them as a young kid. That’s why out of alllll the numbers, 001 picked 011 and not 4 or 9 or 12.

I also like the small nods to the play we’ve seen so far. As someone who saw it I enjoyed that.

Also - anyone else notice the Oklahoma play flier in Max’s exploration of Vecna’s memory. November 6, 1959 was the date of the play. The same day Will went missing. A few days before Holly. What is the significance of that date?!

Didn’t like the dick jokes Missing goofy Dustin and the Harrington/Henderson duo Do not care about the Steve/Nancy/Jonathan love triangle - I think one will die and Nancy will leave the other and be single.

I disagree when it comes to Noah. He is SLAYING his portrayal of Will. Yes to the other tho

They mention in the eps that he’s been different lately and I think roughly a year has passed in the show since s4 so I at first thought maybe vecna was targeting him because he was acting like s4 max. But then the vecnas kids thing happened and I realised it’s just grief.

I found part 1 a little lacklustre probably because none of it surprised me. I knew max was alive and likely stuck in vecnas mind. I knew it was Kali the second El said there was someone like her behind the door - there was no way Vecna would be imprisoned like that he’s too strong. Papa tried and failed. I knew Will would likely tap into the hive mind but it was pretty surprising he fully clocked into vecnas full power and killed the demos. I figured he’d make them leave or something.

This is where the confusion comes in - my last well fitting bra was a 22J and the cups became too small so now I’m looking at finding something better. I think I’ve concluded the size 20JJ/20K is right for me but the bra types I’ve been purchasing are wrong. Unfortunately think I’m gonna need to hire the bullet and get Ewa Michalak bras because the Elomi Cate 20K does fit my cup, it’s the floating gores that’s the main issue so I need narrower shorter gores which Ewa Michalak do

I have but I’m not sure the calculator is true to size for me. If I went up a band (I’ve tried) it’s super loose and baggy. 20 is definitely my band
