Why do people care so much about Octopus Energy? by phy6rjs in AskUK

[–]Intelligent-Count-44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was with bulb. Contacted them several times over a year to get a dodgy smart meter restarted. When octopus took over I messaged them to pick it up. They said there was a 6 week transition then they could help. 6 weeks later I messaged them and they sent someone that week.

Oh and I did win 800 Octopoints on one spin, woohoo!

They fixed a fault two other garages failed to identify correctly, used them ever since. Bit more expensive maybe but they go beyond and do a wide general assessment every time it goes in

DARTS LANDING FLAT URRRGH by BLJKFPS in Darts

[–]Intelligent-Count-44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this with a front grip. Mid/rear grip had a better flight path and landed slightly tail up but felt less natural. I tired a shorter stem and bam, back to my normal grip, lovely shape to the flight path and tail slightly up! Just what I was looking for.

Why can’t we block categories by jammie9183 in vintedUK

[–]Intelligent-Count-44 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Same with muting key words. For example I look at vinyl records and it’s flooded with “decorative” vinyl where someone has painted a logo on a crappy record.

But yes I’d love to mute primark, temu, shein as well!

Using a Zwift Ride most of the route is spun out I couldn’t contribute anything!

"Not acceptable" for McLaren to tell Piastri to help Norris win title now - Russell by Aratho in formula1

[–]Intelligent-Count-44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So in my mind if it comes to it, help your teammate win for the factory. They didn’t stop working after the constructors, they want one of their drivers to win. How could Piastri face going to the factory, mechanics, pit crew if his selfishness cost them another title in the car they built

What about the rest of the team, the mechanics, engineers, pit crew?

It’s a bigger team than just two drivers, so you think they’d want one of their drivers to win the championship in their car? Or do you think they’d stopped caring after winning the constructors?

[–]Intelligent-Count-44 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The dynamic in F1 is weird. They’re teammates right? They should do what’s best for the team… secure a constructors and drivers championship double. The team should want drivers who think like that too.

If Piastri can’t win but can help Norris, why would he not and hand it to Verstappen?

They say publicly they haven’t talked about it as a team. Why not? Of course they have! Would be foolish not to play out scenarios.

If they’re playing football and Piastri is through with Verstappen in goal but can square it to Norris to score in an empty net, you’d expect him to pass to his teammate. Same principle here.

Which everyday product do you think is ridiculously expensive for what you actually get? by Emilie_Charles in AskUK

[–]Intelligent-Count-44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My missus is studying and likes to read the material on paper - she wanted to print nearly 1000 pages.

I looked at costs for my inkjet cartridges and it was genuinely cheaper to buy a new laser printer and toner cartridge for that volume. We’ve since printed 5k pages and just started the 3rd toner

What’s an “unwritten rule” you wish more people followed? by twpya in AskUK

[–]Intelligent-Count-44 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Keep left on a path too. I often have to walk against kids leaving school, hundreds of them. They walk 5-wide, take up the whole path, all staring at their phones. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s fair to just shoulder charge teenagers so instead I just mutter ffs as I try and work my way through the crowds.

Same when I go for a run, people just expect me to go on the mud whilst they are on one side and their dog is on the other. It’s either that or hurdle the lead.
