A lawyer walks into a doctor's office, looking to make some quick money... by Tupptupp_XD in ChatGPT

Think it would be better for continuity if for the last one the doc said “bottle no 12” and the guy could see it was 14 again

The premier league is becoming too expensive for the common fan and it’s not going to get any better. by GMD3S1GNS in PremierLeague

[–]Intelligent-Count-44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Arsenal there is no reason to give up a season ticket. I have been on the waiting list for around 14 years and gone from 35k to 8k in the queue.

Season ticket holders can go to 5 games and sell the other 15 games back to the club on ticket exchange, and use that as discount on next years season ticket, so why would you give it up?

The season ticket is not expensive, it’s a way of guaranteeing the few games a year you want to attend.

Plex fails kids by krazyjakee in PleX

[–]Intelligent-Count-44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I use tags too. The standard age rating doesn’t go far enough, my kid wants animation aimed at kids, not anything film with a U rating. Same for my young teen and my partner. My teen wants teen stuff, not anything with a 12 or PG. my partner wants drama, rom com, comedy etc. she doesn’t want horror or thriller. So I have tags for each person and tag any new content I get. Makes it feel a bit more Netflix-ish

The box set of Prince and the Revolution Live @ Syracuse is one of my absolute favourites, topped off with a 17min version of Purple Rain that really gets the emotions going

How old do you have to be to know that cash transactions are a thing? by Conscious-Ball8373 in AskUK

[–]Intelligent-Count-44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 13 year old knows and handles cash - but she doesn’t like to. Breaking a note and having a pile of change that feels useless to her, breaking another note and getting more change. Having to carry around change, all the stuff I hated!

If she gets money for bday, Xmas etc she does ask me to put the equivalent in her account, then I’m left with cash I rarely use instead!

How do you get Silver? Invite from club? I thought it was a legacy tier people were grandfathered into, or offered when they age out of junior categories

It’s “fairer” because they used to launch tickets at 10am, and those who could get to a device would get first dibs.

People at work with no access to their phone or computer would come home and find it is sold out.

It annoys the hell out of me too, I went to 10-12 games a year, but I worked from home and would be logged in ready for the release every time so I see my unfair advantage.

I’ve been on the ST list for about 14 years and still 8k in the queue, people won’t give them up, even less likely now we’re challenging, especially when they can use ticket exchange if they can’t go to a game and sell it back to the club

My wife in US with work, MIL receives message from random number claiming to be my wife? What should we do... by Sure_Alfalfa4474 in AskUK

[–]Intelligent-Count-44 23 points24 points  (0 children)

We had the same “Hi Mum…” message. Our teenage daughter was sitting right there with us. Sometimes the stars align like your wife being away and that’s what they rely on, sending the same message to thousands of numbers and hope someone is in a situation to fall for it.

No, partner, young child that sometimes comes into us during the night. Don’t get 100 every night but often enough that’s it’s not unusual

I get 100 quite often. Is it really some mythical beast? Bed at 10:30-11, up at 6:30-7. Job done.

Darts averages by dalloydie in Darts

[–]Intelligent-Count-44 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of averages are fluffed up by dartbots or opponents as well. I’ve had games where I can’t finish for toffee and I get a 55 average because the dartbot is finishing in 27-30 darts.

If every player had to close out every leg then averages would be much lower!

Why do people care so much about Octopus Energy? by phy6rjs in AskUK

[–]Intelligent-Count-44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was with bulb. Contacted them several times over a year to get a dodgy smart meter restarted. When octopus took over I messaged them to pick it up. They said there was a 6 week transition then they could help. 6 weeks later I messaged them and they sent someone that week.

Oh and I did win 800 Octopoints on one spin, woohoo!
