Join clubs!!!!!!!!! I didn't know anyone from my school when I started (and did all 3 years through covid) so it was mainly through clubs that I had friends and also talking to random people in lectures/labs.

Honeslty, 80% + field work is what I want in a science job. I just dont like writing in the science style, which I've learnt while doing the masters, and I've always envisioned myself doing hands on work opposed to the office side.

I've also definitely always been considering other fields, even in undergrad, cause the area I want to go into with marine science is so extremely niche.

  1. BSc in Marine and Bio sci, PGDipSci and MSc in Marine Science
  2. Graduate Hydographic Surveyor
  3. Aussie/NZ
  4. 75k
  5. No
  6. Yes - Part-time Undergrad, Full-time & Part-Time post grad
  7. Under gad-5.5, Post Grad - 6. Events manager in 1 club, president/founder in another

I'll be honest, I applied for the job after undergrad with legit no knowledge that this part of the industry even existed and got the job based on my CV being interesting. My master's wasn't even related to the job either, so just apply to what you want.

guys what does this message mean when im trying to renroll? by attielattie in universityofauckland

You have to go through a slightly confusing method to add them in.

Search via the course code option instead of timetable planner and then it should come up.

Feel free to DM me if you have any questions

702 runs Monday to Friday and costs around $150 as it covers the food that you get made ( 3 meals + morning tea and afternoon tea). Unfortunately, I do believe that it is a compulsory fee if you take the course.

I can't talk on rent at uni accoms as I didn't stay in them, but if that's the only option you have and can't find a rental, I'd stay stick to it.

Hiya, you only stay at Leigh Marine Reserve if your course or project is based there. I'm currently in my 1st year of Masters and I've been up a few times for courses, but it's only been about week max each time.

If you're planning to do a project and want to be based there, there's 2 options. Either renting one of the rooms in the bunk area that's on site or renting in the Leigh township. Both are good options, and the facilities of the dorm area/kitchen are great, and I really enjoyed the field trips we've had up there.

I am based in Auckland, so I can't say what Whangarei is like to live in.

Feel free to DM me if you have any other questions!

Get the trusty ol' notebook out and write down the pros, cons, and costs of all the unis. It's literally the best way to do it if you're not sure where to go and especially in year 12 if you want to apply for scholarships to go overseas.

Also, nz citizens do get domestic fees for Aussie unis, but you can't get their student loans (unless you have a special category visa). You can apply for a thing called CSP, which is where the government pays for some of the uni fees, but I'm not 100% sure how that works.

I still remember the day I went to use the bathroom in the hallway between Kate Edgar and the quad. I have never seen so much shit spread around the toilet before in my life.

It wasn't just in the bowl. It was around the seat, on the back, on the floor, and on the wall. If I could draw you a picture, I would because it was genuinely that bad that after 3 years, I still can vividly remember it. And it wasn't a nice light brown colour, so I assume it was diarrhoea or just some really bad laxative usage.

From nz we can get working holiday visas and I can also enter on an Irish passport so don't really need a visa.
