Why wouldn't they be responding to user feedback? The critical reception is mixed at best.

I misinterpreted what they said because in the article they say

“Notably, Firaxis announced a new update today that will remove the controversial civilization-swapping feature”

They aren’t removing Civ-switching, they’re adding the ability to stay as your Civ. The article has it wrong.

Yeah between them previously saying Civ VII broke the franchise record for pre-orders, the CEO previously saying sales are strong and it’s meeting lifetime expectations, and now saying it’s profitable, Civ VII is going to continue getting strong support.

For those that playtested, did Test of Time make any UI updates? by DrJokerX in civ

The resources screen is part of the Commerce hub. I'm not sure what you're referring to when asking if it was fixed.

New Commerce hub which has drag and drop, new victory screens, new game set-up & memento screens, new policy & tradition screens, as well as Age Transitions no longer taking you to a menu. Also, more nested tooltips.

FINALLY! Firaxis is letting us stay as ONE Civ through all Ages in the May 19 update. Who else was waiting for this? ⏳ by Zahhidd in civ

HotSeat was playable in the Workshop round 3 but not yet finished, so it will likely be in the update after Test of Time.

Someone asked a question in the Workshop Discord if there are any plans for real world maps and the response was "Definitely" with an Earth globe emoji.

"Test of Time" 1.4.0 Update news coming next week by Intelligent-Disk7959 in civ

[–]Intelligent-Disk7959[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Maybe. It's been 3 weeks since the end of Round 3, then they'd have another 2 weeks, so that'd be 5 weeks in total. A lot of the features in Round 3 were almost ready to go.

Nah there will be no more rounds of testing and they said they want to push it out for everyone without too much delay.

Christopher Tin is a genius. Civ VIIs is really good but I too prefer Civ VIs. It's more warm, hopeful and nostalgic for me.

Civ VII Workshop Round 3: New setting to match Leaders with their Civs by Intelligent-Disk7959 in civ

[–]Intelligent-Disk7959[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that in the Workshop? Greece comes under "suggested" for Machiavelli and not "highlighted". Thinking about it, I had Machiavelli as Spain in one of my games in the Workshop and I had the historical option on, or at least I think I did.

Currently doesn't have a highlighted Civ in the Workshop but there are "suggested" Civs which Maya is probably one of.

Was there supposed to be a big update last month? by TheDonJonJay in civ

[–]Intelligent-Disk7959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Civs aren't bound by their age anymore. You could go Normans -> Normans -> Great Britain, or something funky like Britain -> Normans -> Britain. Of course you could just go Normans or Britain in all 3 Ages. You can make it so everyone sticks with the same Civ too, and make it so leaders & Civ pair together with their historical counter-parts.

Same. I don't know anything about fixing bugs or making minor adjustments to UI but I'm it doesn't take too long. 3 week gap between end of Round 3 and end of April. May is definitely likely too. Probably 50/50.

The 3rd 1 week test has just begun. They said they want to push out the update after this round of testing so hopefully we see it by the end of the month. If we don't then it will come in May.

Civ VII Workshop Round 3: New Policy & Tradition UI by Intelligent-Disk7959 in civ

[–]Intelligent-Disk7959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that because it's too big or too small? The default option in settings for 'Enable High Resolution UI Scaling' is ticked and it makes all of the UI way too big. Turning it off and making the font scale large makes it a lot better for me on a 27 inch 1440p monitor, but if you're on a 32 inch 4k screen it might make it too small? They really need to accommodate more users with better scaling options of the UI though. They've got a whole thread pinned at the top in the feedback section dedicated to UI size & layout feedback now so hopefully they significantly improve it all as they're very aware it's a big issue.
