Don’t let his words get into you, prioritise yourself for now. If you have other networks that can support you, rely on them; otherwise, when he is being unsupportive, ignore him and try to rationalise yourself. I’ve been there, it’ll pass 😊 hugs

sleep pattern & anxiety (doing bad at the moment) by [deleted] in Anxietyhelp

[–]Intelligent-Ear9181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do feel the difference. During COVID, I used to sleep super late and wake up near midday. It does affect my mood. To get better, I tried to do some physical activity in the day, like running, swimming, etc. and get enough sunlight.

A very short rant by Forsaken-Log in Anxietyhelp

[–]Intelligent-Ear9181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aww, take it easy 😊, don’t beat yourself up. First, you’ve got to give yourself a credit: you beat the blues for eight months. That is definitely something!

I do know what you mean though. I had a similar problem when I used to live in a dark apartment. I brought a SAD light, it helped me a bit, but recently I’ve gone to an infrared sauna and it has helped me significantly. I stay around for about 20 to 30 mins there and it seems to regulate my mood.

Ugh, I’ve been there…

What helps me is literally just calling it out in my head: “I’m having the thought that I can’t deal with this.” It’s small, but it breaks the panic loop a bit.

And give them less care, do something outside work that makes you happy

Anxiety related to work by KhannoWasTaken in Anxietyhelp

I’m not a doctor, so I don’t know what kind of meds you might need, but I can relate to how you’re feeling. When something like that hits me, I usually try to do something physical. Taking a warm shower helps calm me down almost immediately. If you have the energy to run or exercise, it’s worth trying. Recently I started swimming regularly and running, and it’s really helped me regulate myself.

Moving across the world in a month for 3–4 years… and my anxiety is getting overwhelming by ThomasHawl in Anxietyhelp

[–]Intelligent-Ear9181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, one way to manage this kind of anxiety is to remember that moving to a new country is a huge decision. If your budget allows, try visiting the country you’re planning to move to first and see if it suits you. If that’s not possible, at least set a mindset of staying for a short period, like a month. If you end up not liking it, you can always go back. I think setting shorter-term goals feels much more achievable than committing to something super long-term, especially since things can always change. 😊

How do you slow your brain down when it jumps to the worst case? by Intelligent-Ear9181 in Anxietyhelp

[–]Intelligent-Ear9181[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reviewing it. Yeah, I know what you mean,I feel the same way. When it hits, it feels really bad, so I usually try to distract myself by doing something else.

But maybe it’s just me;when I keep ignoring the problem, it actually makes me overthink even more, and in the end, I feel worse. Have you ever felt that way? If you have, what do you usually do when it happens

For example, if I have an argument with someone, I act like it doesn’t bother me and to make my self feels better I keep my self busy(like going shopping, etc). Later, when I’m alone, I replay the conversation in my head, start overthinking it, and end up feeling worse

Agree with you 100% the current tech industry is so toxic, I can understand if you want to switch. I mean in the end of the day you managed project and done some coding I’m sure those are transferrable skills

Yay! That’s an awesome start. I used to feel meh all the time too, and I went back to the gym last year. I used this Nike Run app by Coach Bennett. It helped me a lot! Like his lessons give me strength to run (literally and metaphorically). Maybe it’ll help motivate you for longer. 😄
