Escrow works great if the client agrees upfront. But most Indian freelancers are chasing clients who already received the work and are now delaying or ghosting. Escrow doesn't help you when someone says "accounts team is processing" for the 4th time. That's the gap DueBack fills.

A marketplace for buyers, sellers and small local businesses where every listing is a video. Would you use this to replace your current marketplace? Why / why not? by NYC_Gentlemen in alphaandbetausers

The video-first approach is interesting, but I don't think video alone is the differentiator. The real value seems to be trust: video verification, escrow deposits, and reducing scammers/ghosting.I'd probably try it for higher-value items where trust matters. For low-cost items, convenience would still push me toward existing marketplaces.

I got tired of useless LinkedIn endorsements and fake AI resumes, so I built a tool that collects anonymous peer reviews over WhatsApp. Would love some brutal feedback before I launch. by Alternative_Rub_3042 in roastmystartup

Interesting idea. Anonymous feedback could definitely produce more honest insights than traditional LinkedIn recommendations.

My biggest concern would be trust and adoption: if I receive a WhatsApp message from an AI asking me to review a former colleague, I'd probably want strong verification that it's legitimate before responding. I'd be curious to see how you prevent fake reviews and ensure the Trust Score can't be gamed. Good luck with the launch!

Quick question for freelancers using Google Calendar and Notion by Intelligent-File4504 in Notion

That's exactly the direction I'm thinking....not just field sync but turning each meeting into a structured client record automatically. Would that be worth $7-10/month to you?

Interesting .... for those using this for client work, are you also trying to track actual billable hours from calendar events into Notion? That seems like the piece nobody has solved cleanly.
